One scene I found funny while playing as dragoon is when you meet Estinein in the main story and Alphinaud has no idea what a dragoon is and you’re literally a dragoon standing next to him who saved Eorzea with him. (This scene I believe is right before you go into Heavensward)

I don't want any of this "OH imma walk into an aoe cuz any death is good death" FUCK NO!!! DYING WHILE DAMAGING YOUR ENEMY IS THE ESSENCE OF A DRAGOON!! you're a dps, you're supposed to die while dealing damage, sacrificing your own health to take a piece of the enemy's!!! you must find the most cinematic, EPIC moment to die and TAKE THE LEAP!!! jump larry!! jump to your death!! and if you can't jump to your death then hit the enemy with a combo and backflip off a cliff, as if to say "fuck you boss you don't get to counter that 20k damage i just did!!! I'm the boss here!!" instead you intentionally halfassed the dragoon and proceeded to floor tank literally everything, alerting your healers to your suicidal tendencies and making them better at healing you, all the while ignoring the poor blm who needed the healers to adjust!!! The first thing i made when i found out about Wheeling Thrust and Fang and Claw was a Macro that had both skills in it. That way I don't have to choose between two buttons, but just one! :D Still works pretty well with the SB changes, and i free up one more space in my hotbar for other buttons!

Great video. :D I wish I'd be better at playing Dragoon, because their armor and stuff looks awesome, but the class totally overwhelmed me at 60. I had to completely focus on my skill bars and could hardly pay attention to the bosses anymore, the rotation is soo long.. just like their spear. °L°

I had to re-learn how to play it in order to make this video (to actually SOMEWHAT talk about how the rotation worked,) and it's definitely the most complicated melee dps in my opinion. Respect to the drg mains o7

The rotation is 10 buttons long, so if you map them in the order of use it makes it easier. Im a DRG main, and everytime I see a priority system I wonder how people could possibly play a class like that ;.;

Well, I should probably add that the rotation wasn't my only issue, I also had problems with not losing track of all the buffs, and in the end it just felt too stressful for me to be fun. ^^ Didn't have this issue with any other class (leveled everything except machinist), so I guess Dragoon just isn't for me. I'm curious if this will change with Stormblood's reworked combat though.

I main DRG, and honestly I've done it so much I don't even think about it anymore. I use a Naga mouse, so that makes it easier, but it's all muscle memory now.

Yup, using a keyed mouse makes it almost too easy. I have always used a g600 and once you set your hotbars in a 3x4 configuration and have a shift+ and ctrl+ it makes that rotation seem like nothing. The hardest part then is gearing so you don't have way too much skspd for the rotation. xD
