Dooon't be maaad, we all know how it is. Still, with everything that is "wrong" with this job, despite that DRG it is, basically, a meme itself - I love this class no matter what, I've been Dragoon from the beginning of my journey, and it will stay that way, no matter what everyone says! DRG forever and ever in my heart 💗💗💗And I AM PROUD, even though expectations are a bit off from the reality sometimes... lol
Btw I realized now how weird my first FFXIV video was and how strange I saw this game and franchise:D
Hahah, also, I finally made it! I FINISHED SHADOWBRINGERS and I'm free from the curse of "okay, its gonna be just another quick quest, sure I can finish ShB soon" which probably lasted 8h every day of my weekend (and not only weekend...) for past 3 weeks. But omg, I love this game so much! One side of me is already happy and content that I finished ShB, and other one is crying for more. But I can enjoy the endgame now until Endwalker!
(Also, is it okay that I fell in love with fictional character? XD)
As always, thank you so so so so much for watching and subbing and all those things that you do, especially for that you are here with me! You say that, but one run of The Tower at Paradigms Breach I had gotten through flawlessly through the first two bosses and most of the Red Girl fight, when a tank with a buster popped sprint towards me and killed me. ​@@HikingFeral I just started leveling Dragoon and I can tell you the animation locks are not as bad anymore but it was still a coin flip if you could survive a mechanic while keeping uptime on your cooldowns. Obviously, the meme around tanking the floor is more about Melee DPS in general- as a Reaper main I'm constantly trying to finish my bursts that I end up tanking the floor. Unlike Samurai's Iaijutsu, or Dragoon's animation locks, though, Reaper is on the safer side of things until you use the wrong teleport and jump off the map.

New player here. I was doing the first dungeon of Stormblood like 2 weeks ago and I used elusive jump accidentally but avoided an aoe unintentionally and got everyone to commend me and someone in chat say, "You give me hope sprout"

First time I used elusive jump was in the Titan dungeon. I’m guessing you all know how that went. Now, as a main DRG and a sprout I’m pretty sure I just get commendations because I remained alive.

That was my first time experiencing an active time maneuver. I assumed it was the same thing as quick time events so was waiting for the prompt to press a button. I don't think I got a raise for the remainder of the fight (DRG)

I just recently did Wheeping City of Mhach as a DRG and when fighting the weird orb boss I intentionally decided not to do any jumps for exactly this reason and I suspect my judgement was correct lol

@@Wuffskers Luckily, Ozma's jump hitbox doesn't send you over the edge, only to the edge of the platform. Just watch out for jumping straight into his beam AOE attack. As far as I can remember, Shinryu has been the only boss with the hitbox problem.

I’m still somewhat new to FF14. I just got to level 54 on my main class as Scholar (healer). And yet despite this I know just how real these memes are. So much of my work is just keeping dragoon alive. I literally always have to give dragoon the least priority because I know I’m probably gonna have to pick them back up again soon. They need to fix its animation locks and give it a charge move Edit: Dragoon has been saved Comrades! Animation locks been reduced drastically!

This lowkey reminds me when fighting Titania our healers and tanks all got wiped so hard, I, DRG main sprout, ended up being the only one not dying and standing there alive and almost got the boss with like 10% hp left, before it gives me a yellow marker It was very bizarre I don’t know how I survived til then

I remember changing up my hot bar, as a DRG main, and accidentally forgetting about it, not practicing it, and logging out. Next day, atart off with a trial. Forget which one. Queue pops, watch cutscene, apologize for holding up the game, get told its okay. Fight starts, and I had swapped high jump and elusive jump. Right off the stage before the boss fight started. Whole party got a good laugh while they began their rotations.

that's because it's not really a jump. It's more like a fast forward tp. Like the one Ninjas have. You go in a straightline. Only the animation makes it look like your jumping

Whenever you jump, you encompass every point between your starting position and your destination at the same time. Up until the animation ends you are everywhere at once. That is also the reason why Dragoons more than anyone else get screwed over by AoEs

Im lvling drg atm and overall I can keep myself alive pretty well, however, recently in duty roulette I got dun scaith… didn’t took long to find out that scatchach and diabolos are not meelee friendly. Me and my ninja friend floor tanked all the time 🥲 massive thx to the sge for all the rezzes and the dnc not giving up on me. Also thx for the unnecessary death random tank that decided last second to run at me with his tank buster. 💀 anyways it was a wild run. Still don’t understand how I got 4 comms out of that… since I lvl drg I get more comms than I get as healer lol

Not really. There are no combo point classes in FF14. Maybe Samurai would be the closest as you have a big "finishing move" you use as part of your rotation after building up 3 different type of points (but they're personal, not on your target). In terms of fluff Ninja is obviously the closest. Plays nothing like a WoW rogue, though.
