Nurse is literally an anime protagonist. We had the black hole arc to prove how OP she is. Then we had the bad guy rival arc to prove how strong she is with friends. Then the friend who helped her kill the bad guy is killed trying to save Nurse, Nurse barely survives, and only survives thanks to the power of friendship as well as her indomitable will.

In ss13 engi is supposed to turn a black hole into a power generator without it eating the whole station, so it's kinda rare that they get to blow it up. Usually when Lord Singulon gets out of hand, engis are the first to be devoured, so the rest of the crew has to deal with his wrath.

Ah nice. Engineering is fun, you can start with basics- like learning how to take stuff apart and secret doors. Alot of skills that will remain handy regardless of what role you play in the future, especially knowing the details of a given station's layout and infrastructure.

Thanks for the tip, I might try this game. Based on Nurse's first few videos of the game my impression was that most players were elderly American stoners who were so out of it that any attempt to make sense of the games would be scuppered.
@LoopHD3 жыл бұрын
@@kadensmike8190 A lot of the game is extremely realistic, but some roles have special abilities and the antagonists turn everything upside down. This game does have a cult following of a small amount of dedicated players who have played this game for ages spread across all the different servers. BECAUSE everything is so hard to learn, every time there's a wave of new players servers literally enter lockdown mode and the entire community panics, because of half the server being full of people who don't know how to do their job, which will either end in a round with no events because the antagonists don't know what they're doing, or a round that's over way too quickly because everyone got killed so easily by the antagonists. I'd say the game is hard to get in to, but once you grasp the basic you just need someone to teach you a job and you can fly through them. Some jobs are extremely complex though. For example, there's a job in Paradise that requires you to do complex math in order to open portals to other fucking dimensions. And then on the opposite side, there's genetics, where you just sit on the genetics console, and after a bit of figuring out easily unlock new mutations from the crew gene database, turn you and your buddy into superhumans. You just have to not let it overwhelm you and keep going.

I'm really glad to see you're enjoying SS13 and I can't wait to see what shenanigans you get up to next time. Fastest sub of my life. EDIT: I'm not sure if you noticed, but you blew off the nukies leg with that hit. Nurse any player with more than 20 hours (around 10 rounds) will likely recognise that you're playing goon station, which... isn't the best server for a newbie. I recommend playing beestation, which has less complex controls/mechanics. /tg/ is probably the next step, its considerably better codewise, but its more complex too. you’re probably not gonna run into a lot of katanas commonly, but clicking on the sheath lets you take the katana out. you can target specific bodyparts with the grey body dummy thingy on the UI in the corner by clicking on a limb. hitting somebody with a katana will cut off the body part that you are targeting, however it doesnt do much if you hit them in the chest and decapitating only works if you’ve cut off their arms and legs. pretty handy.

Ah, reminds me of story many years ago on SP13 heavy RP server. I was engineer, and prepared to go space-walk for singularity engine pylon startup. Chief engineer was watching me over the window. I've successfully set up pylons and started to head back to station, when suddenly one of pylons discharged (they do that occasionally) right when I was passing by. Imagine being struck by high voltage lightning arc from high power lines. That was done to me. Immediately down, almost lost all control over my body. Chief called emergency over radio. Engineering had only one space suit, so there was no-body on vicinity to grab me out fast. Somehow I got some power in me and crawled to hatch. In a meantime, captain, medical and bunch of security were waiting just behind second hatch door. When I was in, chief remotely closed door and bunch of people immediately got me out on medical cart. I was dragged to operation table, barely able to speak. Station medical was equipped with state of the art healing pods, which stabilized many burns and damage on my body. But it could not save my arm and leg from being completely destroyed to the bone (apparently that's where electric arc went through). Medical decided to replace those limbs with robotic prosthetics. Inviting chief robotics, they did hard operation on me. I was alive and able to speak after all painkillers and other drugs. Before letting me out of medical, chief of robotics asked me, how do I like my new improved limbs. I've turned around and said "I've never asked for this". And went straight to the bar. I've refused to do any more jobs that round, spend it in bar drinking (on house) and kept company to visitors, retelling this story.
