@@CertifiedSunset It is joke. It does happen, but unfortunately many precincts will actively protect cops who really should be disciplined or even fired. Some go so far as frankly bizarre training regimes that in no way prepare their officers for conflict resolution, just armed hostility. This isn't to say no good precincts exist or that all cops are heartless monsters that get away with murder, the whole "ACAB" thing is a useless generalization, but the problem does exist and is broadly systemic.

@@CertifiedSunset my dad and brother are cops. Most are ok but the laws are written in such a way that they can bust you on just about anything. Pretty much don't piss them off because they can find something to write you a ticket or arrest you

@@jeffbrewer1580 They can't arrest you for "just about anything" If they do, you as a victim in that situation can take them to court if they unjustly used their power as police. Obviously they key to avoiding that is just avoid getting on the police's radar like doing shady shit or speeding. I've yet to meet an officer that wasn't just normal and chill, I've never met a tyrannical piece of shit cop that so many people talk about. I'm saying they don't exist or that you can't run into one of them. But from my experience all of the police at least in my area have been professional and overall good guys.
