Only one comment about cleanup … never use a brush to gather dried clay bits. ALWAYS use a wet sponge and clean your studio floor with a wet mop. Brushing and sweeping stir up minute clay silica particles with will damage your lungs.

Some potters prefer to recycle the sludge, but we prefer to toss it out in the garbage since it contains contaminants that could spoil the clay

Allow the clay water to settle and separate over a night or two, then gently pour the clear water out. You'll be left with the sludge at the bottom that you can dump directly into the bin. Hope this helps!

Love this video except the emphasis on air pockets. Air pockets absolutely do not cause kiln explosions. Steam causes explosions. Fire slower to avoid.
