Finally i found someone to explain me the difference from glazings and all the decorations options in ceramic!!!! thank you so much!!!

Thank you! I have watched dozens of videos in an attempt to learn how to underglaze leaf imprints, and you are the only one who has actually explained and demonstrated it!

This is a wonderful video. I'm studying the history of Korean ceramics for my PhD, but I know very little about how to actually make ceramics. This has inspired me to hopefully learn in the future! Thank you! Your pieces are beautiful.

@@tderf what a totally useless comment. I'm assuming you've never taken college classes. Not every class is the same name as the degree. It's not like you take one class with the same name as the degree for 6+ years to get a doctorate...
@nuclearseahorse2 жыл бұрын
Good luck on your PhD if you're still working on it! Very niche but super interesting I bet 😊
@panderichthys_rhombolepis2 жыл бұрын
@@rozarian3136 Well, the commentator was particularly crude in the way he said it, but to tell you the truth, I thought the same thing: How prepared will this person be for an increasingly precarious job market -- the subject matter is so esoteric that it puts the person in a very risky professional position. He/she might either crack into something very rewarding, financially was well as intellectually, or end up flipping burgers for McDonald's.
@rozarian31362 жыл бұрын
@@panderichthys_rhombolepis you guys are completely missing the point and are making it clearer and clearer you don't understand course structure, job skills, and or/job market. For one, they never even said what the major was, just that it was part of the study for a PhD. I know plenty of people who have studied "esoteric" things as part of arts degrees, Which while it may be niche, is still a specialty skill, which will always be in demand in fields like museums, art galleries, various research projects/grants, private firms, etc. Not to mention, there's a chance they may already be in that field and are attaining this degree to further themselves professionally. Lastly, it's for a doctorate, not some 4yr degree. That's a very prestigious thing to attain and not many people have one. I feel like you're smart enough to know that a PhD is not just some degree that people get without knowing what they're going to do with it. So it's just stupid to make comments like "end up flipping burgers at McDonald's" and "what a useless degree"

Question about the jar: After you dipped both the body and lid in the glossy glaze, you wiped the bottom of the jar where the wax was so it didn't get stuck to the kiln when the glaze fired. But what about the lid? Were you able to put the lid on the body of the jar when firing, or would they stick together then? Or did you put wax on the bottom of the lid and fire the two pieces not touching, and I just missed that part?

Thank you so much for this video! I´m curious of why sometimes you have to leave space from the bottom of the dish so that the glaze does not melt onto the kiln floor, and sometimes it seems you can go all over the piece with the glaze without the piece sticking to the kiln floor. Can you give some insights to this? :) Thank you!

For the zig zag one, you had the speckles on the base and then put wax on top. Won’t wax burn off and then expose the black specks to the kiln plate?
@inlovewithJLT Жыл бұрын
Since it was an underglaze it wouldn’t stick to the kiln because they’re just pigmented clay.
