My dog doesn't let me do anything under the tail. Any helpful ideas?

Our boy hated his legs or feet touched. But, he didn't mind the comb.

My Irish Wolfhound looks a lot like yours in this video. He does not like water/baths or nail clipping but likes being brushed. Any ideas for an easy introduction to grooming? He’s about 3 years old. I adopted him about 3 months ago. Thank you!

Thank you for rescuing him. A great resource for all things Wolfhound: www.iwclubofamerica.org/home It typically takes at least 3 months for a rescue to settle in and be comfortable. Sounds like you are off to a good start. 😊 Take your time with introducing new things and break behaviors down. For example, nail trimming should start with touching his feet and giving him treats for being calm and relaxed while his feet are handled. Dogwise.com is one of favorite websites for books and videos about all things dog. Thank you for this video! I am picking up my IWH in a couple of weeks. She will be 12 weeks old. How often should I groom and bath her?

Hi Ramona. Congratulations 🎉 Very exciting! As far as bathing, we only do that before every few shows and if they are just stinky and need it. For brushing, I recommend doing it regularly - every day or so- and all over her body while she is young to get her used to it. Use the brush side rather than the pin side while she is relaxed and just run it over her body while quietly talking to her. You want her to enjoy grooming and look forward to it. 😊
