i had a TWSBI ECO that was just dry and just did not want to write well and had ink flow issue . i looked at the tine under a lope and the tines were just too tight with not much light between the tines. I used brass shim and was able to spread the tine gap where it was a lot better ink flow and writes smoother . Baby bottoms are really hard time remedy . Your suggestion to send it back to the company was a good . Yaffa Brands ( Conklin , and MonteVerde ) will send you a brand new nib unit if you contact there customer service since there nibs have a lifetime warranty . but if you break the barrel or cap , you might pay for the replacement barrel if you want it fixed or just crazy glue the plastic barrel. I have a pen with baby's bottom problem. Will send to a meister to fix it.
