Basics of Prayer | Forgiveness | Episode 2

This message focuses on the importance of effective prayer and how to pray biblically. Duane covers several topics, including:
1. The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, just as John the Baptist taught his followers (Luke 11:1). This demonstrates the need for everyone to learn the proper way to pray.
2. Jesus gave the Lord's Prayer as a model (Matthew 6:9-13), which includes forgiving others as God forgives us. Forgiveness and freedom from offense are critical components of prayer (Matthew 6:14-15).
3. Having wrong motives, like praying to be seen by others, prevents prayers from being effective (Matthew 6:5-6). Prayer should be directed to God alone.
4. Vain repetition and begging are not true prayer (Matthew 6:7-8). Instead, we should pray according to God's will as revealed in Scripture.
5. Faith is key - believing we have received what we ask for when we pray according to God's will (Mark 11:22-24). Our words must align with our prayers.
6. Unforgiveness gives Satan an opportunity to hinder answers to prayer (2 Corinthians 2:10-11). Forgiving others daily is vital (Matthew 6:14-15, Mark 11:25-26).

I am confused. Mark 11:22-26 seems to say then that the work of Christ on the cross was not complete. It implies what we do or don't do changes Christ's forgiveness and our forgiveness is dependent on us.

It is important to understand, that we are the ones who have authority in this world. Jesus defeated the devil and gave US the power to tramble on snakes and scorpions and all the power of the enemy. The answear is in Mathew 28:18-19. Jesus took back the authority from satan and shared with us(vers 19: go therefore...) The power is in our tongues! We speak to the mountains, we command. God can flow through people, and he gave us the dominion over the earth and we reign with Christ! (Ephesians 2:6) We are forgiven but we can stop the power of God flowing through us if we have unforgiveness in our hearts, the enemy can take advantage of that. hope this can help you😊
