Basics on how to fly the IniBuilds Antonov An-225 Mriya for MSFS

This is a quick start guide on how to fly the AN-225 in Microsoft Flight Simulator. It's not an in-depth guide. (That will come later.) This video will get you flying and hopefully learning to land better than I did.

Yea, a little fast and I thought I was on the ground when I was floating. Those massive wings generate a tons of lift, so if light you really need to make it land.

just remember there is conversion on the flypad. That being said i just crashed because i slowed to 250km/h instead of Knotts lol. (way to slow and stalled)

It' s a really wonderful addon to have! I sincerely reccomend it. It's one of my favorites. The first time I flew it, just didn´t read the manual; just followed the Checklist and i went smooth and fine. Of course, not reccomendable, but the only thing I wanted was to have "the feel" of the (one and only) An-225 "Mriya" ("Dream" in Ukranian).

Absolutely fantastic made me buy it … not one blip of turbulence the whole way like a still image .. msfs really needs to add realism of the plane buffeting about at times instead of looking like the sim is paused

I’ve had some turbulence with bad enough weather. Remember though, those huge wings and tail were designed to stay stable with a space craft on the roof. It’s over 1.4 million pounds at mtow. Almost 50% heavier then a 747. It’s takes a lot to make somthing that heavy shake. Try landing in anchorage and going straight over the mountains. You will feel the turbulence.

it can not. It only does cat1 ILS

No FMC. Those are normally found on a glass cockpit. This plane is more old school.

I don’t understand do I HAVE to set autopilot up and all that stuff? Because my parking brake is off yet I cannot increase my throttles to takeoff speed…

If auto pilot is off you can use the throttles manually.

Great plane, but I seem to be having problems with my ATC, as the radio stops working as soon as I get airborne. In other words, I don't get the list to tune in to approach or anything else?

You may need to reset your transponder when they ask.

How do you know what speeds to use?

Take off is the blue mark with full flaps. Landing is roughly 160-180 knots depending on what you weigh. I just crashed at 13000fpm from a stall on approach so I'm still working on landing speed.
