It’s hard to get the silicone on camera after removing most of it, but it leaves a “smear” that needs further polishing to completely remove, Magic eraser and microfiber are perfect for the final step

I accidentally put silicone over paint on glass so I used "Glass Cleaner" and scraped the silicone off and off went the paint. Now the glass is clean. Nice video.

I was to about to order a kit with razor and goo be gone but thankfully after washing your video I used a Mr. Clean wipe from a box I already had so thanks. I removed melted silicone left behind from a phone hodler.

Hello bro, I have theese nasty silicone stains on used aquarium I bought. Nothing worked thus far, I tried Soudal silicone remover, it's absolute trash, tried different solvents like acetone and isopropyl, all trash. Will try this magic eraser and steel wool. Something got to work!

Magic eraser is really good, can also try a solvent like Titan oil flow windowcleaner.com/products/titan-oil-flo-stain-remover?sca_ref=3020242.k17l3JaEgS

In my demolition jobs I use a degreaser like Krud Cutter or Super Clean to dissolve the silicone, then scrape it off the surface. Then you can finish with the magic eraser.

Be careful with Krud Cutter, it can etch glass. Had a customer spray over all there windows and damaged every window

@@SteveOthewindowcleaner yikes. Yeah in that example it was tile so no foul spraying it on there. For glass you'd want to be more careful. I haven't come across silicone on glass, but have seen paint. Recently I used a few sprays of Super Clean on the mop to up the power of the soap a little. And it's not on the glass for long. If you saw the complete caking of spider poop and bug juice on those 45° windows, you'd understand...lol. You couldn't see out of them.

Great channel, learnt so much. Why am I occassionally getting scratches marks with scraper even when window is wet

It’s due to fabrication debris on the window, it can happen no matter what but typically the scratches are already there but after cleaning it makes the scratches standout

I was going to do a construction clean up for a home builder, he said the windows had silicone on them i just said “yea ill prolly use steel wool on it” he flipped out “YOUR GONNA SCRATCH THE WINDOW, if you cant do the job let me know right now”. I looked at him and said “i guess i cant do your job” and left.. the hell with that guy

You should cover if you have not. Windows with logos on it you clean them like normal but there is always water coming out from the logos in the windows is quite time consuming to clean the logos to make all the water come out then i clean the window but i have not find a better way

How do you remove finger prints in the pores of the glass?

Yikes no, no steel wool. 3 passes with scraper should be enough with sufficient elbow grease. I regularly do builder's cleans where there is silicone, plaster, even concrete which is more difficult - and make them look like there is no glass. I wouldn't even use steel wool on a rental.
