Lots of thanks to you, beautiful Miro. Several hugs from Arizona where it is incredibly beautiful and equally soul sucking in a very insidious way…. America is broken. You help me escape. I appreciate you. ✌🏼

Hello Miro, long time no hear!! I find your talks so interesting, love when you go into detail about one specific hoya and soil mixes. Lovely collection. I prefer the small leaved hoyas, but an Undulata would be nice to own. You are very honest in sharing your plant woes with your audience. Thank you💓

I hope you can get one soon then! The prices are definitely dropping but perhaps now is not the best time - winter & all. Unless there is a week when it will be nice for shipping 😂 I have no control, so I wait for those weeks in winter like my life depends on it :D

Love this deep dive Miro! I am someone who loves undulata. However, it's really truly heartbreaking to me to hear how it is virtually extinct in nature, where it evolved and belongs. With every species that disappears from the local ecosystem, that is one less species that interacts with the food web there. Less and less biodiversity. It really troubles me. 😢 Wish we could help re-introduce them to their habitat

It is very sad. A lot of the times it is pressure from cultivation that is paired with hardships these people face in countries from which plant enthusiasts source their plants. It is very understandable, when you have to feed a big family, and no way of getting income, you can't get work, that you turn to poaching. And us as plant enthusiasts, are responsbile, because we put pressure on the market. There is also deforestation, illegal lodging... but yes, all human activity. :/ Hold on to your dear undulata, you are preserving it in your home

I never have gotten an undulata , I have no tent or cabinet , and in winter my apt gets cold and dry . I can say my caudata Sumatra , which is suppose to be the sturdiest , requires warmth and humidity to grow vines and leaves . She will flower a lot in spring
@hanstera_deliciosa12 сағат бұрын
What a reassuring comment. 🤗
@BasiePlants7 сағат бұрын
Oh, how nice! Undulata too can grow outside of the cabinet, but H. caudata from Sumatra is particularly adaptable and a good grower in most ambients. Though, I will admit, they grow MUCH better in a tent. But there are trade-offs. Tents are ugly as heck xD

That was a very interesting comparison to orchid care. I don’t know why I keep trying to add terrestrial components to the substrate
@BasiePlants7 сағат бұрын
I did it too :D And for some hoyas in makes sense, but for some, not at all. And some are super picky, like undulata, so avoiding soil is best, in my opinion.

Hi Miro, thank you this video full of useful information. You did your research as usual 🙂 wow! This is the 1st mature healthy looking Undulata I have seen so far. This plant is gorgeous, as you said check all the boxes. I acquired one this summer (my most expensive Hoya) cut it😮 now I have 3 plants in PON. I keep it in high humidity in a box and seems to respond well to medium light because each plant pushed a new leaf I heard that they can rot for no reason (Rotting spontaneously happened to one of my Clemensiorum cuttings☹️) Question Could you please advise me on When and how should I remove it from high humidity?
@njiseidou31975 сағат бұрын
Thanks Miro thinking of adding it to my collection it's going for $85 here in the states the red umdalata is less go figure
@BasiePlants5 сағат бұрын
The price is similar in Europe. Is it an unrooted cutting or a small plant?
