Yo tuve la inmensa suerte de estar en ese pedazo de concierto, dentro del Congreso Internacional de Música de Cine celebrado en Úbeda, provincia de Jaén, España. Allí actuaron numerosos compositores de música cinematográfica, siendo Poledouris la estrella principal del evento. Fue uno de sus últimos actos públicos antes de fallecer por una larga enfermedad.

I was there too. There's something very emotional missing from this video. The first time they tried to play this as an encore, they screwed up and had to stop playing. Basil turned to the audience and said "one more time!", before cuing the orchestra in for a second time. One more time, indeed. It was the last music he performed. To this very day, I still tear up a little every time I recall that moment.

El concierto ha sido publicado en DVD junto a unas entrevistas a conocidos y familiares de Poledouris. Es una edición limitada pero en tiendas especializadas creo que podrás encontrarlo. The concert have been released in DVD including interviews with friends and familiy of Basil Poledouris. The DVD is a limited edition but I think it can be found on specialized soundtracks shops.

Al fin conseguí el dvd del concierto y aunque está muy bien te deja con ganas de más. Y es que se dejaron fuera temas fundamentales como Theology/Civilization y sobre todo The Orgy. No sé si sería debido a no haberlos ensayado o simplemente que tampoco querían alargarse demasiado debido al estado de salud de Basil, pero en cualquier caso una pena.

Like you say it,re patrida.Try watching conan with the volume on mute or one of the deleted scenes from the DVD,they have no music.Though i like CONAN THE BARBARIAN,it was the music that made it great.Now Basil is gone like Andreas Katsoulas.Bloody anti Greek Hollywood conspiracy...
