I’m this video I am sharing the real time footage of making a two time rectangle basket using rattan reed. This basket weaving project was a fun and easy piece. Would you be willing to do a video of how to design a basket? How do you calculate the length of the spokes etc. if you know the finished dimensions of the basket you want to make? Are there generic formulas you follow for lengths of spokes and number of spokes on a round basket depending on the diameter? Thanks in advance.

Hi! I have seen a couple of your vids and decided to try and buy a starter kit (still aiting for it to arrive). I was wondering if, in your opinion, you should absolutely finish a weave if you start it, or if it's possible to go to and from it and weave it bit by bit? Thanks in advance

You can definitely weave in short sessions. I like to set up a work station if possible, so I can leave the project out and work on it in small bursts. Just be sure to soak the reed in water for a few minutes and/or spray your work with water to keep things pliable. Enjoy!

Could you supply the length of the reed for the stakes and also the size of the base, please? 🙂

I don't have a pattern for this basket, I designed it on the fly with scrap materials.
