It's a shame that there was no footage of the Stokes game. There were some legendary players that participated. Would have loved to see some of those players play more freely in a different environment.

I don’t what got into Kent Bensons head. Why elbow him like that? Did someone tell him to do that? Or was he just a jerk? I can’t decide if that was deserved or not

I met benson at a MECUM auto auction ( I was auctioning a restored 1973 mustang convertible) and I asked him about that day. Kent said he wanted to let the best player in league ( kareem) that the rookie in his first NBA game was no pushover; so they were going at it early. He didnt quite elucidate WHY he made such an egregious elbow other than "they were going at it" at the other end and he wanted to continue; not knowing that kareem would belt him. Other than dennis awtrey I dont know anyone who started sh*t with kareem which came to blows ( kevin kunnert was CLOSE)

Kareem was low-key dirty. His image is too pure to the younger generation of fans. They need to know this side.

That's bullshit. That's why I don't like this video because it unfairly tries to paint Kareem as a villain. But Benson had that coming to him after he FLAGRANTLY bowed Kareem.

@@lwmson Kareem was a garbage person and a dirty player deal with it. I hate his guts Wilt on the other hand was class never bullied anyone and is the goat.

Kareem was an asshole for almost his entire career. Surely, rude to opposing players, coaches and media. Cried like a baby and stomped his feet on almost every foul call against him. Not until his last year did he become a little more friendly on his fair-well tour where he accepted tens of thousands of dollars worth of gifts some the same teams he treated like shit for his career!!

wilt lacks in scoring on a 'per minute" basis ( kareem far better) and jordan passed wilt in PPG career; kareem ended wilts career point total. NOTE- wilty averaged EIGHT points per game LESS in career playoffs... kareems numbers were the same as his regular season numbers. Wilt was great; but overrated in the grand scheme of things. Shall we look at wins and losses in finals? Oh wait- this is when cretins claim " wilt didnt play with anyone who was good" which I *ASSUME* includes the TWELVE HOFers wilts played alongside. Kareem 32 PPG career vs wilt. Wilt 16 ppg vs kareem. no one ever scored 40 on wilt. Kareem got FIFTY.
