I tried gripping my board perfectly, but I lined it up terribly and there was about 3 inches of empty space on the side of the board. I ended up cringing for the next 4 months.

when I was trying to grip my board my cats were allover it and I ended up sticking the adhesive side of my grip together. I still used the grip by prying it apart, but when I cut I tore off a huge chunk on accident.

Little late but I got a package from ccs I was like 9 an I tried to put my grip on without scoring the side and cut it so bad and didn't even sand around it so it was horrible so bad that in spots there was access and I just pushed it around the deck on the side and it went to the bottom lol

I want a proper reply not an insult, I ride longboards and wanted to get a board to actually do tricks on but was wondering why are the wheels so small, they could be a bit bigger couldn't they so you don't feel bumps and rocks??

Zak Raja If they're too big when you do tricks while riding and you land them, the wheel might get caught on the board and that leads you to fall. It's called wheel bite.

Smaller wheels will be lighter and more maneuverable. Small wheels also tend to be harder than longboard wheels, which is good for grip (even if it doesn't make sense) at skateparks. If you want, you can get 55-60mm wheels (I personally don't recommend this) that will much more easily rode over bumps, rocks, and cracks, but it will limit your ability to do and learn new tricks because of the added weight and bulk. I definitely recommend getting 53-55mm wheels in your case, because you are already accustomed to larger wheels. These are about average sizes for skateboard wheels. Don't go any smaller than that until you have more experience on street and park wheels. Also, skateboard wheels range from 95a-101a duro, whereas longboard wheels tend to be from 75a-80a. I you don't know what I am talking about, look up what durometer means. Good luck man! Make sure to keep practicing, too! Tricks may look easy, but they come with LOTS of time. Get comfortable on your board before attempting even ollies. And don't forget, learning how to ride transitions, pyramids, and humps at your local skatepark is always a fun way to mix things up when you get bored of street skating. Have fun, stick to it, and don't take your first set up too seriously. I recommend going to a local skateshop and buying from there, because the people there can help fit a board to your needs, rather than guessing at what is good for you with online stores. Plus, supporting small, local businesses is never a bad thing. Plus-plus, they can also help you find local skate-spots where you can fine-tune your skills! Good luck, yo!

Zak Raja Do what I do.. I got some 55m chunky rubber skateboard wheels with bones swiss bearings. Then in my bag I've got some spitfire wheels with bones reds and a skate tool. I have to skate a 4 miles to get to the skatepark so just swap the wheels when you're where you wanna skate. You can still do tricks, it's just a bit heavier, and also with skateboard wheels they tend to slide more, so with spin tricks you have a bit of freedom since the wheels will slide but if you land to early on a spin trick with the big rubber wheels they'll stick and make you come off.
