Awesome video Todd. Really makes you think. Thanks for sharing this video with us.

terrific vid, Todd! I think you’re dead on. I can definitely see where being in a “funk“ and being “sick” is the same thing.

Pray for wind!! Wind is definitely your friend in these times. Also shallow water.

Ive heard that you need at least 15ft of water in areas of a lake to have a turnover but how true that is I don't really know. This is a weird time to be on the water and to me it's like a pattern doesn't really hold up day to day. I think you nailed it when you brought up water quality is what drives fish to eat. I definitely believe in junk fishing and covering water on top of staying to the more shallow ends of the lake. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

I fished the Big Bass Bash the week after your Toyota event and the fish were off. I fished from the Gravois, Linn Creek, Hurricane Deck, and down the Osage and the bite was horrible. Just small fish I was catching.....I could see the bigger ones on Livescope and couldnt get them to bite anything. I firmly believe LOZ fishes like 4-5 different lakes at any given time. Keep up the great content.

Bingo! Best vid yet! "Sick" is spot on!!! I love fishing the turnover because I learn more about water than any other time of the year. I do water analytics, and find that pH and O2 levels heavily drive how active and healthy bass are. BTW, the clear lakes turnover many times happens a little earlier in the fall and is accompanied by late season algae blooms due to the excess organics from the turnover. Algae blooms can kill the bite in certain areas.

Ok this helps me. I was on southern Champlain last weekend. Fishing was tough. I noticed shallow backwater water temp was lower than the main lake. I couldn’t figure out why. It’s never like that. I bet the lake turned over. Water had a different look to it.

I think your spot on

Had this happen a few weeks ago in WV. Biggest kayak tournament of the year only 2 limits they was both from same ramp everyone else struggled. Its a great lake to fish i knew i was around them but couldn't make them bite.

You can see turnover in clear lakes, it’s happening on lanier now. Water stays clear but gets a slight brown tint and lots of bubbles on the surface. Bodies of water with current also don’t turn as bad since the thermocline doesn’t set up in areas with high current
@bluesinsation3 күн бұрын
Wind currents will move the bad water besides mixing it so take prior days wind directions into consideration too.

Prolly why Livingston sux so bad these days. It's doing that now, especially up in White Rock. Of course water quality here generally sux all the time. Only caught 3 bass Sunday and they were in dense brush.

Water in the thermocline is 52 deg. Give or take a couple. When the upper water reaches near that is when the turnover occurs. Go shallow !

I don’t know… Texoma’s water was looking good last weekend, but Champs got their butts kicked

Maybe I’ll do some experimenting on my pond with that turnover. It varies from 7 to 13 foot deep. I’ll get my John boat and the small humminbird just to see what happens,

What I wonder is does it happen on lakes that get a lot of current....like my local lake it's one of the few that the lake above this lake they can pump water both ways. Let it out of oconee into Sinclair or pump it north from Sinclair back into oconee.. curious
@mattmitchell92983 күн бұрын
You can't always see the algae blooms either. The drops and spikes in pH is the best indicator.

You kinda eluded/hinted to the fact that you didn’t really understand much in your first 10-ish years of fishing. Is there anything specifically that changed for you after that point to make you say “okay now i get it”? Was it just that you had a change in life that allowed more time on the water after the first 10 years or did you finally gain confidence or was there anything like that at all that you look back on as the turning point in you going from “bad” to “good” for lack of better terms?

Damn bro are you trying to put out more content than Milliken now?
