Just bought the JMJ bass. Didn’t mean to, was looking for strings for my jazz bass and just saw this one and fell in love. Didn’t know much about JMJ before but kinda stoked to have the bass associated with such an incredible player and humble, genuine guy.

Have this bass and the rumble 100. My all time favorite bass and it was by accident that I even bought one. I just liked the color and ordered it. It’s an absolute joy to play and sounds so freaking good. Plays like a guitar but sounds like the bass I’ve always wanted.

I like the rumble series a LOT. Best new bass amp for the money, IMHO.

The rumble series gets consistent praise on talkbass and elsewhere. Not everyone’s cuppa tea, but a solid platform for bass reproduction.

Rumble 100 is amazing. Sounds great with any bass. Unfortunately I had to sell mine and I’m left with an audio interface

Good conversation that reminds us all to have open minds about music. JMJ's playing with Beck is how I know him and I have tons of respect for his chops, and musicality. Some of the stuff on Sea Change is almost unbelievably tasteful and virtuosic. Certain tracks remind me of McCartney, real busy but it sits in the mix perfectly (yay for flatwounds).

Love to see Fender giveaways and i want too but i'm not residents your country list :( Fender basses & amp prices not so high in US or Europe. Exchange rate differences and additional taxes rais the price in my country (About x10 higher).

Bass inspirations: Yup, Mike Watt would be in. Greg Norton of the Huskers too. Realised too that a lot of bass players I liked were inspired themselves by James Jamerson... go to the source :) Oh, and got to put some Mick Karn to get that super individual take that bass allows (e.g. Methods of Dance live > kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKbMg3WClpyjmqM)

Why is it called Fender Play when there is so little actual playing? I'm not listening through nearly an hour of the host interrupting the guest to hear 3 minutes of playing.

@@michaelblaney4461 Really? A Gibson EB3 doesn’t growl? You’re just generalising. It depends on different factors, mostly pickups and strings. I had a Squier Jag that was mean, too.
