Nice video Richard.I recently did a social experiment to prove if a dog loves you more than the wife doe,s.I put them both in the trunk of my car overnight, and in the morning I let them both out.The wife packed up her things and left me ,but my dog was so happy to see me he hasn't left my side one time since the experiment. ha ha.

So happy to see an angler bring the simplicity back to fishing. Who says you have to have a $50,000 rig full of electronic gizmos to have a ball. Well done as usual, Richard. And I'm glad to see you had no run ins with "no shoulders" because that looked like copperhead territory.

Richard Gene The Fishing Machine....Thank you as well. I have a question for you. I have around 150 2-slice bait holder hooks..sixes 4 & 6. How can I use these and make them function like weighted jig heads? Or is it best just to buy some 1/16 oz jig heads in different colors? Thanks in advance for your help!

I am guessing this is in Tennessee? Lot of cross-breeding going on in that creek. One pure redeye for sure, I think one pure smallie, but other non-largemouths looked like redeye x smallmouth hybrids. That place is flat loaded with bass, though.

I to have this passion for creek fishing and fishing in general. Really enjoy the simplicity of your approach to this sport. Not sure what this quotes means but the words are beautiful very similar to good day on the creek. Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. the river was cut by the world’s great floor and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are the timeless rain drops. Under the rock are the words and some of the words are theirs. Norman McLean

Thank you for always demonstrating such respect for the fish. I haven't caught a Big'un yet, but when I do, I'm gonna be patient and gentle with it ... making sure to "let it go the way it came". 😉👍🎣

This is a great fishing experience, The creek is so beautiful and the surrounding trees make the place exclusive and your skill is second to none. Get wet, get fun, get fish and get home safely! This is all about fishing and I love the running water, clear and clean. Thanks for the video!

Went to Truman lake on Sunday and caught 2 drums, 3 catfish, some crappies. The largest one weighed 13/4 pounds. Pretty happy with the sizes!

Those were some pretty lookin bronze backs! Well, all of em were pretty. I've got 3 or 4 reservoirs around my area, struggling to catch fish in em; any pointers to speak of Richard Gene?

I was raised in Riverview Florida. Everyday I would go to the Alafia river after my chores, and catch snook, redfish, and speckled trout on finger mullet, pin fish.. Fun times! I fished in Simmons park the same way. Thank you for watching Doug!

Love this creek. I don’t have anything around me that looks that good. Been to a few” what people around here calls a river”. They are maybe 5 foot wide and two foot deep.lol. Where I come from a river is at least 50 foot wide and around 25 foot deep. I’m having to relearn everything.

Before i used a square bill lipless crank a buzzbait jerkbait walking bait a frog swim jig football head jig flipping jig. A punch rig for heavy grass brush or pads 70 lb braid with 40lb monofilament leader. Spoons cast spoons along with the other lures i meanioned. Big poppers for striper. Fyi you can use a 1/8 or best to use a 1/32 oz chappie jig with white grub white jig head. Put trophy bass on and you can catch stripers. Use 4 to 6 lb line. Just be causious pulling big fish in on 4 or 6 lb line. Get slime line and youll land big fish like stripers. To use fly snaps big fish will break them. I lost a 4plus lb smallie and a big striper on a fly snap theyre useless on big fish. These are only good on crappie smaller pan fish or trout. Not built for hard fighting big stripers, bass or big smallies

Simplicity has helped me catch a ton more fish. I had a bunch of fancy lures that i worked hard to get better with. Though i could fish these lures well i just wasnt getting bites. I use 6 inch leader with size 1, 2, 8 or 10 baitholder hooks. I use small baitholders to catch live bait. With 2 splitshots 6 inches above where leader ties to main line. Also a 6 inch leader with size 1,2 6 8 or 10 baitholder hooks with a slip bobber and 2 splitshots below bobber where i want bobber to stop. A 2/0 or 3/0 superline ewg offset hook or a crappie jig or a dropshot. Also topwatee lures Berkeley choppo, wakebait kvd splash a spinner bait light weight and a wakebait. This is all i use. If i was lucky before with all these lures id catch maybe 2 fish. This was with a huge number of lures i use to use. Now, i catch a minimal or 6 or 7. Some days 12 plus fish. 😊😊❤ huge increase on fish catches. 🐟

I dunno bout everybody else but I just wholeheartedly love seeing creek'n'stream wade-fishing hike vids more than "legendary lunker" lake or murky pond reaction bassin' vids, cause creeks & streams not only are more sporting and multi-species bountiful, but I find it to be that creeks & streams are far more uniquely scenic and plain prettier! ~someone who'd rather catch 12 pounders than just only get one lucky 12 pounder
