As someone who also enjoys wading creeks and rivers for miles at a time, I can confirm, nobody realizes just how hard it can be on your ankles and legs. Walking on uneven, rocky, slippery terrain for half a day can really kick your butt!

You should come wading up to Central Kentucky. I can put you on 50-100 fish a day with Smallmouth in the short range to 20 inches or better with the majority being 14 plus. Miles of water and structure like above that has hardly seen any fisherman but me over the years. Another good video man, I should start doing some filming myself to share with folks. I'm sure viewers would love it.

Went creek fishing in the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA yesterday and landed over 100 fish in 6 hours. Best was a 3lb Smallmouth. It was a good day! I fished with a vintage Penn 716 on a vintage Eagle Claw Featherlite, 4lb Pline.

Absolutely beautiful creek, the bluff reminds me of a small river in IL, the long shallow stretches of a different creek. Saw you're trying topwater Pop R but sometimes they just don't get enough bites. Using my play book hang in the shade and cast into the shade on opposite bank. It's a winning formula with plastics

I always enjoy your videos. The point you made about fishing upstream was good and one I’ve always used especially fishing for trout. Fishing upstream also gives you another advantage in that as the angler you’re standing still and the fish is in a body of water being moved closer to you. Great job John, keep the videos coming!

I remember fishing a stream similar to the one you are in. My friend and I both used white curly tail grubs. When we went back a few years later there was no fish. Don't know what happened but we went from catching 20 to 30 small mouth that ranged between 14 and 16 inches to not even seeing a fish. Very sad. Please keep it up.

That is a day! hooked some big 3-5 pounders today with some teenagers that came by me fishing, and we ended up fishing together and had a great time! Helping kids with techniques and stuff felt great, and I felt like a teenager again for a few hours!

I watched one of your other videos where you were just slaying the fish with that bubblegum lemon swirl Yum dinger so I rushed out to the local tackle shop and bought some as well as the bumblebee swirl that was right next to it and I must admit that bubblegum lemon swirl caught a bunch of fish but so did the bumblebee swirl, you might want to give that a shot and compare them to see which one works best. I’d be interested in a comparison on your streams and small rivers you fish.
