not a fair comparison. The living rubber skirt has twice the strands than silicone cause it to look fuller in water. Plus once you increase the strands on the the silicone skirt to equal the rubber skirt you can cut some of the silicone strands shorter to make them stand out straighter, this will give a more fuller look.

As someone said before, I'd like to see them both with a trailer. Seems that possibly the living rubber would hide the trailer more than the silicone. And strand count would definitely make a difference. I'd also like to add that here in Arizona the rubber skirts melt in this summer heat. Where as the silicone last so much longer. And one final comment is that it seems to me there are many more color choices in the silicone version. Great underwater video !! Keep up the good work !

Great info and video to back it up. Would love to see them both in action with a trailer on them 🤔thought for future video maybe even through in a jig with both living and silicon?

TY, Allen Ramsey. Even in the North East (New England) I have experienced my skirts "melting" but I was not sure if it was the rubber or silicon version. So thank you for clearing that up. I have been wanting to learn how to tie these skirts onto jigs and spinnerbaits, just for this reason. I personally don't like the look of store bought skirts on my lure because of the elastic band or plastic adaptor they come with. Does anyone know of an on-line class?

I’ve been tying living rubber jig since the 80’s I have more material. The silicone is not that impressive. For one I find it tears easily.
