Bass Fishing low tide & offshore, CA Delta!
www.informativefisherman.com
coochsfishing.com
This was a special episode to help break down the troubles that weekend angles often struggle with on low tide and fishing out and away from the bank. Andy & Nick fish the outside and offshore features that the Delta still offers on the lowest of tides to help break down & catch those deeper water or fish transitioning back out from high tide. Baits and rigs used in this film consist of drop shot rigs, Texas rigs, vibrating jigs, jigs & crank baits.

Dude, I gotta say your videos are the best! This is one of the few fishing resources I can always rely on for great, accessible information that even a dummy like me can actually use on the water the next weekend. Keep up the good work!

Good tip on hitting deeper areas near points or cover that you normally catch on. Gonna have to try that out, thanks for always teaching brother.

Thanks Nick. I got to book one guide trip with Andy. Similar conditions but we didn't do very good. Nevertheless this video brings back great memories. I hope to go fishing again with Cooch on the other side! (there is fishing in heaven, otherwise how could it be heaven?)

a few years back my brother and I were on a guided trip with the jig man. Jig bite was slow, he put us on a deeper flat with grass. We pulled a 12 and a 7 lbs bass off the same bed.

Nice fish! Nick it would be great if u can show us some fishing for shad and stipe bass off the bank. I always go fishing on Freeport left From the bridge. But I use sardines for bait and I'm just getting all these small stipe bass . What should I do, and also new to shad fishing. Thanks in advanced👍

I like all these videos you put up. I did have a few questions because I would need to adjust some of what I do when fishing for largemouth. They have a few places here in WY and one thing I noticed that is NOT like down south where I am from (FL), is that a lot of lakes and ponds out here have a lot of grass in the bottom and they are not too deep.. like 4 or 5 feet in some places.. so what should I concentrate the most. Shore line where there are toolies or should fish any area according to season the same way?.. I mean its kind of hard to determine when the water is low in 4 to 5 feet or water.. and that is the hardest for me.. So what do you suggest for those kind of conditions..???

Hi Nick, any recommendation on a good boat ramp to launch from? I normally launch Orwood but it's super busy at times. You mentioned Buckley but I'm not so sure if you launched from there? Great videos by the way; I learn a lot from you. Thanks in advance!

How the hell are you keeping the boat in one place in that wind? I take my boat out in wind like that and i can barely anchor myself into one place. Trolling motor? Forget about it. Even my outboard has trouble maintaining a straight line.

Want a killer hot spot? Since I've retired from tournement fishing, I'll share my favorite Cal. Delta Oxbow island where I've caught a bunch of 7+ lb. fish, some were over 12 lbs. From Buckley cove (San Joaquin river in Stockton) work your way into Whiskey Slough. Move south west 1/4 mile down Whisky Slough (its a dead end slough), theres an Oxbow island on the left side and although I've caught really good fish inside the Oxbox on both sides, ..my two biggest fish came on the outer edge of that island, ..not inside the oxbow itself but the main outside (slough side) of the island. Its not a very long island so on a low tide pitch black and blue 3/8 oz. jigs on the deeper tule clumps. On high tide pitch the jigs inside the clumps to the bank or sink weightless blk/blue 5 inch Sencos. I found my two better fish (12.65 and 13.2 lbs) on the ends of the island but fish the entire length of the island. Let me know how you do and Good luck.

Sir FarSide what about someone like me? New to fishing, no boat. Where can I go? Eventually I wanna get a boat. And just to let you know I live in Manteca Ca. The water is flowing too fast! So for now I prefer lake fishing at the moment. Where can I go?!? And I just moved out here from southern cal not even a year ago. Thanks!

The water only moves fast during the far end of tidal movement but there are plenty of boat harbors every where on the Delta that have great shore fishing available cause they have roads. Many of these are back water areas where the water is calm and I've caught some big ass bass (11.4 lbs) in those areas. Buy a Delta map and find the harbors close to you. I suggest harbors in the south Delta like Buckley cove in Stockton or Tiki Lagoon that are off the main river.

I carry fly cutters they are like nail clippers that stay open to make cutting off baits and hooks easy. The mask I pull over my face is called a buff and it's for sun protection.
