Red shad is THE color to use in Florida lakes. If they won't bite red shad, you can try june bug and that will do it as well.

You were using a offset worm hook. You had created a weightless Texas Rig. Traditionally a Texas Rig has a bullet weight usually 1/4 or 3/8. The bullet weight slides freely on the line above the worm.

Jacki l grew up catching bass when I was 12-13 years old in South Florida back in the 70s living in Coral Springs Florida my biggest bass at the age of 16 was 11 lb 4 oz that's my biggest bass then 1981-82 I started saltwater fishing and I rather saltwater fish than bass fish

We're used 7 inch worms for largemouth bass topwater works good at night we caught some big bass 5- 6 -7-8 pound Bass we were just teenagers too but I rather do saltwater fishing for Snook redfish spotted sea trout we call him Gator trout got plenty of them now I'm up here in Branson Missouri where the big catfish is caught we have big ones here up to 15 to 30 lb

I surely like worms when it comes to freshwater fishing but when it comes to saltwater I use artificial shrimp tails and topwater plugs I like topwater because you can see the action

Jackie, next time you come to Key West, looks us up, I work for the Department of Defense at the Naval Air Station, there is 6 large fresh water lakes on the base that never get fished, I fish them from the shoreline and constantly catching bass over 8 pounds, my biggest from these lakes was 14 pounds. No problem getting you clearance to get on the base.

Texas rig is the way you rig the hook to be weedless ....The hook is a 4/O off set wide gap hook....Texas rigged plastics can be fished with or without a weight.

That is a "Mondo" hook for bass...!! In Canada we use 8-12 sized hooks and catch 2-5lb bass or bigger.. You could catch a "Shark" with that hook.. Love the videos!! P.s.. Hope your lakes get BIGGER then those streams & ponds.. lol JK I seen your salt water vid's sweet!! DEv

Jacki, if you want to catch Bass, fish early in the morning, like between 6am and 8am, or between 6pm and 9pm. Fishing Bass at noon or any other time will "not" catch you much at all. In the evening, try a small to medium surface lure, if that doesn't work, start increasing the size of your lure and changing you retrieve methods.

Grassless hook. Lol. It's a EWG hook. Extra wide gap. Just for future reference. Texas rigged is the way the bait is put on the hook. And when u bury the hook point back into the bait, it's called "texsposed". I dunno if I spelled that correctly. Lol. U def get the importance of finding good angles the way u were climbing all over shit. Put a 1/4 oz bullet weight on that worm.

When I worm fish and feel the take i lower my rod tip count to 3 and then set the hook. It gives the Bass time to turn the hook in it's mouth. Any pray a bass eat's the always turn it head first .
