hey everyone,
So my only third attempt at free lining for bass, and I managed to sneak out the previous week without the camera, and low and behold, I had my first bass of the year, so with that in mind, and a promise of fresh peeler crab, we went out to see if we could repeat the success.

Thanks mate, I've only tried it 3 times, and 2 times I landed a bass, so percentage wise it seems like a good method, obviously the right time of year helps when the spiders are peeling 😂👍🎣🎣

Nice one Dylan, I blanked 2day n the chap to my left had 4 sole n 3 bass all on fresh dug Lug. I had frozen everything. I couldn't believe it,I was devoed lol. That's what I learnt 2day bait is king. All the best from G.Y.

Another interesting video Dylan. Well done. And well done to your mate for that lovely bass! I think I’ve mentioned this before, but that old book “Hooked on Bass” by Mike Ladle and Alan Vaughan, is incredible. Much of it about the IOW. Complete eye-opener!

Thanks mate, it was a lovely evening bud, certainly better than now. Those crab do make a great bait, fished a comp on Saturday and managed a win again, but forgot to push record for the first couple of hours, so may not have dit it. Basically missed all the fish 😂😂👍🎣

perfect mate, couldnt get out tonight as family life got in the way but a frugal video is the next best thing, you have IMO the best fishing channel on youtube, no nonsense, show it as it is, and just fish, keep up the great work mate, i love how your so comfortable in front of camera thats something i struggle with along with catching fish hahaha, me and me lad tommy (10) love going on the hamble river having a laugh and catching school bass, fishing is such a great way to spend the day

Thanks mate, that's very kind, there are few really good ones out there, and like you I prefer the more realistic ones, not someone that thinks they are a pro, or some sort of influencer, famous or something, ramming shorts down people's necks, and buying subscribers. I'm just glad you enjoy mate, and the more you go, the more your catch rate will improve. Shore hunter, Christchurch angling, fish disco are really good channels, river side with me is great also. I have a few go to channels. Yours is great as well mate. Main thing is to enjoy it buddy👍👍🎣🎣😎

hi bud loved this video alot more than usal think its cause u decide to freeline this time i fished the same spot on the wall at the start of the videos on tuesday/Wednesday during the morning up till afternoon in the shade of the trees with crab and cuttle strips on the bottom but no luck and the thing is no matter how long you been fishing you are always learning and nicks a awesome guy and full of knowledge and fanatical bassman and what u dont learn from him isnt really worth knowing anyway.. cant wait for next video bud..tight lines..🎣💚

Unlucky bud,new techniques are always tricky persist at it though and you be rewarded in time👊🏽. Some big bass around at minute I Hooked into a very big bass Sunday, unfortunately I was not prepped for that stamp of fish though and got done. Next time ay 😁🤙

Unlucky on the fish mate. But just want to say your camera and sound quality is top quality now mate. Clean crisp sound and during the day you could see how sharp your picture quality is.

Love this, never tried freelining for bass. What size reel do you use and what low diameter line? might give it a go on a baitrunner reel. Defo works. Excellent video my friend.

Cool mate, yeah I usually use a baitrunner, but it's a bit on the heavy side. I use braid, so they are all pretty thin. I think I have maybe 40lb on, then I use 25lb for the hook length. It's really good fun. Especially if you pick up a hound by accident 😂😂😎🎣
