Awesome sub for the car with the kit from PE, I'm getting usable bass down to 20hz and it's extremely smooth. Mmm so good... ;) Going to build a ported box tuned to 20hz and see how that does just to get every ounce of performance out of it though.

What size is the kit from PE? Did you end up making the ported box? I’m planning on putting one in my car but I don’t want to take up too much space

@@gagedoble2843 it was the 1.5 cubic foot Sealed box. And I did make a new box. Instead of ported I used passive radiators. Box is tuned to 19Hz and does everything I want it to. (Ported would be similar but I decided to try PR) The Sealed box in the end was better for 26Hz+ (but had good clean response to under 20Hz but was less audible the more road noise there was) New box is great for 17Hz+ regardless of road noise. In fact 17-19Hz hurts my ears for some reason.

You should try something like the SVS PB-1000, 10" 300Wrms tuned to 22 Hz, goes flat down to 20 hz etc. got it myself, love it!

What would you recommend for someone who listens to both hip hop and death metal really fast bass. I have the room for 2 15s or 2 12s or 3 to 4 10s. This will be going in a vehicle. What is your box tuned to? Ive been thinking of going with the dayton tuned to 33-38? Any help would be greatly appreciated I've researched and researched I know death metal is a lot of mids and I will be doing those as well.

Since this channel has lots of knowledgeable people on it I have a question. I have a 12' Hifonics subwoofer wired to 2ohms in my appt but it doesn't really flex even at high volumes (it gets loud though) Any idea why that is?

Box size and if you port it, you tune it by port length and diameter or size of the port. If you go sealed, mainly tune it by the size of the box. Download winisd software and you can play with those numbers.
