BASS LAB SIX (BLS) is one of the most versatile and adventurous music solo projects born in the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. It was envisioned and created by six-string bass player, producer, composer, educator, and visual artist William Cruz Ruiz in 2020 as a way to expand his 20-year artistic trajectory in the Puerto Rico music scene and present his music to the globe. BLS experiments with sound modifications to connect different music genres and styles like synthwave, retro, vaporwave, 8-bit, psychedelic, deep house, and Jazz fusion to create an artistic experience formed by bass-line improvisations and musical expansion.
BLS elevates music with the bass to create a unique sound that transcends bodies, minds, and souls. In 2021, William released BLS’s debut album with Neon Ctrl Records presenting a brilliant collection of instrumental offerings made for vibrant encounters, mindful sessions, and nature immersion. William has been a sideman in many album recordings and is also the founder of SACH, an electronic music duo established in 2015 that fuses funk, electronic music, and jazz.
