Great video. I'm curious about how you mute open strings when you're descending?
@rufusbass9 жыл бұрын
Conan Shinn Hey Conan..Thanks! Ok, so-when descending, the FRETTING hand automatically damps the upper strings, but also I will sometimes rest my third or fourth fingers on my plucking (right hand) on any open string that might ring otherwise.. I'm offering Skype Lessons too now, so feel free to reach out if you are interested in studying with me...reggibass@gmail.com

hi phil great vid,i noticed that your right wrist is not in the neutral position,it is bent over,the only reason i am mentiong it,is a lot of teachers say it is bad,so i have tried to change mine as i play a similiar angle ,but i find it impossible,it like starting to play again from the begining,all i want to no is, do you play with your right wrist at a 90%angle,or is it just the camera angle,i hope you do,because if its good enough for you then it will be for me to,please answer,as at this moment i am at a complete standstill on my bass because i am now doubting my technique,but i need to no if i should carry on or try to correct it,thanks
