When I worked at Atomic loudspeakers when I built their stretched Astro demo van, I used two layers of mat and then used legit spray in bed liner 1/2 inch thick over the mat. Worked great.

Tip for you.. when you spread the seam sealer use some lacquer thinner on the brush... it will smooth it out and generally easier to work. JUST THE TIP !

Doug- Have you been keeping track how much extra weight you're adding when finished? Maybe consider a coil-over upgrade, or even air bags like the Mule? Maybe air shocks all around would do. I say this- because adding this much weight greatly changes the handling characteristics of a minivan like an Astro- especially in the front. You could do severe damage to the unibody and frame rails- if a part snaps, like a ball joint or tie rod. I would seriously consider installing all urethane suspension bushings, new ball joints, tie rods, and hub bearings. Check out either Jegs or Prothane. RockAuto has the rest, really cheap.

Goonzquad, in a years time has rebuilt 3 salvaged cars , a boat , renovated a whole house inside and out , plus yard . That voltage controller sounds like a great product. I’ve had 2, 2017+ Chevys and both run 14 volts after starting to charge the battery back up, but run at 12 most of the time. On my Silverado you can hit the tow/haul button and it will run at 14 all the time, but that don’t work on a Camaro, at least I can’t find the tow button🤔

Man for the roof, you should've got some deci-damp. Cut some plywood to fill the gaps in the roof, roll on the deci-damp. Put the ply wood against it, secure plywood to the struts running across the roof. Boom constrained layer damping it would work much better than the sound deadener.
