Can you believe that this was the first time I've made a cast on Guntersville? Fish are doing everything (spawning, fry gaurders, bream beds, offshore ledges) and that doesn't make it easy coming up with a game plan for a lake you've never been on!

I've never got fish the big portion of the lake, just the river part, mainly put in at mud creek, that lake can be aggravating cause of all that grass floating around, but it's to see how your practice went, that big spoon will wear you down, I bet your arms about to fall off, you look so much like my nephew it's crazy, but anyway you should have caught you a mess of those white bass & fried them up MDJ style, that's nice not having to load the boat up during practice, nice place!🎣👍

The floating eel grass can be extremely frustrating but it definitely protects the fishery! Some of my best places in this tournament were unfishable because of it. Low key, I’m wore out but it was worth it 💪🏻

When you first get out on the lake for practice, how do decide what bait to start with? I used to fish small club tournaments and that was alway hard for me to figure out.

Typically I like to cover as much water as I can so I will either start off graphing or throwing moving baits like jerkbaits, slobber knocker, crank baits, and top waters. Once I see what I’m looking for I’ll slow down with plastics.

See ! You have the perfect mindset. You don't Know what to expect because you never fished it. Sometimes it's just good to clear out all the doubt because it doesn't look the way you like it. Your changing it up staying observant for anything.. If it's all loaded with eel grass. You'd think a piece of structure laying in all that grass would be jamb packed .. FYI.. I don't know if that's in the rules because of the information 😅😅😅😅.. but you can never go wrong throwing a swimbait through and around the bridges.. or flipping and skipping docks.. keep grinding on the videos! When the bass are keying in on gizzard Shad and you are fishing schools of bass that are of all sizes, your really targeting the big ones!
