That was an awesome video!! Never no know what a carp will eat. I was surprised a few times!! lol A question did you do a video like this for fishing from a boat. I'm new to your channel and like it very much. I live in PA so most of the things you do I can relate to very well. Fished at Milton, Mosquito & of course Pymatuning. Would like to get to know Milton & Mosquito better. Have a Happy & Blessed New Year!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!

What baits are best for each? E.g. rip rap; bridges? Points, docks? Or, more specifically what process to decide what to use? Say on the rip rap on front side of dam?

I caught a carp in winter in Idaho, on a drop shot on a point with a night crawler, using a gentle twitch action. 5 pounds! Very difficult. I was catching trout and he got in my mix.

You forgot another good reason to fish at the ramp- release fish. Lots of anglers will hold their largest in the live well until they pull out- to get a better picture or something I guess- not really sure why- but they end up releasing them at the ramp quiet often, at least where I fish. And these bass will lots of time just take up at the nearest piece of structure or cover, at least for a few days- maybe feed a few times- then some return to where they were caught and some stay. The ramp holds a lot of bait fish, there's lots of hard bottom around, lots of oxygen- it's often a better place than where they were caught so- I guess I'd stay to- makes sense. I've caught some nice release fish on my lake a few days after a tournament, when they've had time to recover form being caught and are feeding again. Yeah it's sort of cheating I guess but- whatever... it's still fun. Great place to junk fish. PS- Not on a drop shot but, I did catch one once yo-yoing a trap- and he ate it, I didn't snag him. The hooks were inside his mouth.

I live in Central North Carolina and there are several really nice large lakes where the pros often come to fish, but since I got into bass fishing I've always avoided them cause I thought it was too difficult to find bass on a large reservoir from the bank. Another channel actually suggested points and I went out the other day and caught a couple from the bank on a jig in the rocks and I've been thinking maybe I can target these lakes more, this video is perfect timing! I''m definitely going to try it more. I have a point with a lot of rocks in the shallow water, besides a jig, what else would be good to throw there?

Love the bank content! So what lures works in these locations?
@Oldbasshole3 жыл бұрын
Loaded question , every lake is different. Depends on water clarity , depth , vegetation etc . That being said , soft plastic stick baits weedless either Texas rigged or Wacky is tough yo beat

Hey what’s up .. well first , love the content .. my question is , I live in Pennsylvania and I was wondering what are some good lures to use in the mornings , then to use during hot summer days and then during the evenings ? I’m new to all this and really want to get into bass fishing
@davidcicetti84213 жыл бұрын
I’ll let Ty give his advice, but for my opinion for a true beginner top water bait early in the morning like a hollow body Frog, buzzbait, or whopper plopper. During really hot summer days it’s best to throw finesse baits, e.g. Ned Rig, shakey head finesse worm, neko rigged finesse worm, wacky rigged senko or slowly dragging a big Texas rigged curl tail worm or Carolina rigging it. Or find cover, shade lines, downed trees, docks, brush etc, and flip a creature bait into the best structure you can find and there will likely be fish holding in the cover or shade during hot afternoons. Many fish will be out deep on the hottest days, making bank fishing more difficult. Evenings you can go back to top water. Or throw other subsurface moving baits (Spinnerbait, chatterbait, squarebill) or a fluke style bait worked real fast if they are blowing up on Shad. Fish are most active feeders during the summer early in the morning and in the evening around dusk. Usually mid-day you gotta slow down your approach and finesse tactics usually work best.
