Great tips and info! While I do believe you're right about bass roaming in a particular area I once was fishing a tournament on a brackish water river system and caught a pass directly on a bridge pylon to my disbelief the bass had barnacles on him from sitting there so often ambushing haha

#4 I can attest to but, with a swim jig! It was August, hot days and I had thrown all of the usual baits with no luck. Decided to throw the tackle box at them starting with a big swim jig which I had hardly ever thrown. Well, the rest is history. I caught several that day on that swim jig and they were bigger in size. Now, I throw that swim jig a lot and, although I had to downsize for Winter, I always tie one on. They will chase and hit it and, that tells me where they are!

What size swim jig? And what trailer do you like to use?
@robertbrost7777Ай бұрын
@@revolio7964 Get the 3/8 ounce Strike King Tour Grade Swimming Jig in Bluegill color. I got mine at Dicks Sporting Goods for like $4.50. Only trailer I throw is the Strike King Rage Twin Tail Menace. Only color I use is Moon Juice. It has twin tails that are the same color as a bluegills tail. I cut a little bit off to make it fit the SK jig. The SK Tour Grade Swim Jig has a nice wire keeper too! Keeps that trailer on! Don’t forget to detach the 2 tails before using as they come attached in the middle. Good luck!

This year was interesting for me. Watching videos like this and getting out of my comfort zone allowed me to learn a lot. My biggest SMB this year was drop shotting a 2” crappie jig body in 45 FOW. Also caught more LMB on jigs this year than all the years prior, combined.

Thanks Ty, thats why fishing is so great .There is a lot of luck involved so that even a newbie can catch a trophy first time out.Yet it can humble the most seasoned angler when they think they have it all figured out.Merry Christmas and may God continue to bless you and your family!!

Thank you for this interesting video. I do my baits and i thin the next level is the naturalization of the baits. I try to do my perfect bait. Only one, two or three but perfects.

I was really hoping that next year would be the year...but I have a big project that is going to take up a lot of my time this year and with 3 boys under 5 years old I decided I didn't want to be gone all the time. Hoping to head back next year though!

Love the presentation T. Thanks again for the usual quality content. Just wondering, is the war wound on your nose fishing related or as a result of the wife expressing her frustration of you not being around enough to help with the chores? LoL

Great video. I’m not sure rattles in baits make that much difference. I fish mud brown waters and I catch them more on silent squarebills, swim jigs, drop shots, and small swimbaits more than I do on baits with rattles. I’ve gone to using rattles only in the prespawn and spawn. Rest of the year is silent or vibration baits. I’ll take water displacement over rattles. … I agree I don’t think colors matter all that much as long as the bait has contrast. Purple contrasts with brown, black contrasts with watermelon, deep blues contrast with chartreuses and oranges. So I fish stark contrasts or muted contrasts. Example black with white as stark or black with smoke as muted for shads. Black with watermelon as stark or black with green pumpkin as muted when fishing the bottom.

I'm no pro but study structure of said body of water , where bass will be at different times of the year & what they are feeding on. These vids really help but putting in time on water is best I believe. I probably shouldn't even comment on question , but I have a few years & a few bass under my belt from bank so there is that
@andywilliamson78468 ай бұрын
@@navagatingthroughthebeasts2908 Right. Time on the water (or shore time). Also, make sure your body of water has a decent population of bass. I hate guessing if there are actually bass in the lake/pond up here in the north where winterkill is real. State fish and game dept. usually helps with information.

The pond that I fish I’ve caught the majority of fish on a small shad colored swim bait with a Colorado blade and I’ve threw a lot of different baits never any luck with rattles.

Yea sometimes rattles are just too much for bass. Especially if a pond has clear water

#5, I'm a firm believer that once you catch 1 or 2 in an area that it spooks the rest. There may be 10 there but, there's something they sense when you're reeling in one of their buddies. Also, when you're reeling one in from far away, how many saw that and got spooked. You may as well catch one on the West facing shoreline and then hit the East facing right after that catch. I think they need time to have things calm down prior to taking a chance again. JMHO

Im no expert at all, but I was just saying this the other day. I always hear about people catching a bunch of bass in one area. I don’t know if I can ever recall catching another bass where I caught one. I usually always have to move to a new spot. I have been fishing from a kayak the past year…..and that limits the water you can cover 😂 I didnt know if I’m doing something wrong or what. I’ve always kinda felt like it spooks the others too
@rok-me-diafetus59779 ай бұрын
noticed this too. At most i get 1-2 in a single spot and the bite dies down. Move on to a different spot and it picks up again. I like to think the caught bass goes back to tell their buddies they were abducted by aliens and they avoid the area for a while.
@bassandtreblefishing9 ай бұрын
@bassfishinghq I hope you chime in here... I'll say that I've seen enough videos that prove without a doubt- absolutely no question at all, I'm as certain as certain can be- that sometimes catching a bass spooks other bass and sometimes it sets off a feeding frenzy where 10-20 bass are freakin out tryin to eat your lure. Compile the data you've collected over the past years and analyze it, bass are somewhat predictable and mostly unpredictable. But somewhat predictable, that predictable part is definitely a big deal haha

@@BassFishingHQIt’s so crazy to me how rugged bass can be. South Africa isn’t a place you would think of for bass. There is no restrictions on them either because they’re an invasive species. Invasive bass just sounds funny to me. 😂

Do fish have color preferences on different bodies of water? Yes. Is the color more important than depth, speed, size, or presentation? Never.
