Or ..... You can use diy "mesh jointed" (WINDOW SCREEN) soft plastics, on a Ned or Senko (weighted EWG or Wacky rigged). "Mend-it" loves window screen. There's also the free rigged ribbon tail. And different rigging techniques like the Drop-Shot, Neko and Line-Through.

I feel like there’s a conversation you didn’t touch very much on that is as key to winter fishing as any type of bait or advice anywhere. You have to realize what’s going on with ‘Bass’ during the cold and winter months. >This is a ‘Bass’ conversation, so that’s all I’m referring to< The body temperature of a Bass IS the temperature of the water surrounding it. In the summer, with the warm water comes warm body temperature- the warmer the body temperature the more activity, more activity requires more energy intake. When Bass are at their highest energy intake, Fishing is good, and activity is at its best. Flip the story for cold and winter months. For most anglers, this is all known and obvious. When the water is at its coldest, so are the Bass and movement can all but completely stop. With almost zero movement, almost zero energy is needed , sought after, or consumed. A Bass can close down to eating very little one time a day, one time a week. If you don’t throw a bait in front of them during this lottery time, you will get zero response- even maybe seeing them just move away from your bait. However, should you be in their area during that certain weekly magic time, they can bite on virtually anything they see moving.- and as he mentioned - it’s anything that’s moving - slowly. They need just enough energy to survive and will not put forth extended amounts of energy to find it.
