Remember they went through TIME, that was Bowser's younger self, if Baby Bowser would have stayed, it would've reek havoc on the timeline and the mario universe will cease to exist, so the only logical reason there's a mini bowser here is because that's Bowser's SON Bowser.jr

He can Wall Jump, that helped him get high enough for his Up Special to make it to the Edge... Most people that don't have such an Effective Recovery or Move that sends them Upwards still made it if they could wall jump, kinda like Mario, since he only has Super Jump Punch as an Option for Vertical Recovery, since FLUDD is useless, and the Cape works only for Horizontal Distance, and not having Mario Tornado as a Special Move like Luigi or Dr. Mario he had to use a Wall Jump (Dr. Mario did use wall jump too before the Dr. Tornado but his Super Jump Punch isn't that good)
