That happens sometimes, with people who sing tenor. After that, Jerry A. Martin joined the group at the tenor slot until about 2020 or 2021. Arthur Rice...what a Lead Singer! He was with The Kingsmen Quartet from 1984-1989. Tell ya what, though:I have no idea how he put up with Jim Hamill pickin' on him...night after night after night after night! I'm pretty sure that it was all in good fun, though. Jim Hamill was a Laff & A Half, though, so...I guess it is what it is...or was...or whatever. The Kingsmen Quartet sure had a load of fun up on-stage....Bless their hearts! Johnny Parrack was with The Kingsmen Quartet from 1971-Early 1977. After that, they picked up this little feller...by the name of Ernie Phillips. He was 5 Foot, 2 Inches tall. Weight? About 102 Pounds. They had to take a Boy's size Buster Brown Suit, and cut it down, just as far as it could be cut down, just to have a suit small enough to wear! (Well... according to Jim Hamill, who was quite a storyteller, and a supreme Jokester)! Good Ole Jim Hamill! He passed away in 2007, but his memory lives on, still!!!

What We Needed was written on Ash Wednesday in 1988. The song was written in French. It was written by me, Ivan Parker, Shawn Obrien and Gary Atkinson.
@CharlotteAhlemann-gu5nm27 күн бұрын
I was also a contributor to What We Needed. And the words of the opening part were changed. It was written in Spanish. The correct translation is that No work of man ever SAVED A soul from hell.
@CharlotteAhlemann-gu5nm16 күн бұрын
There was another co-writer. Tony Richardson wrote the opening part. There is a word change. The second line should be: EV'RY WORK OF MAN, SINCE THE WORLD BEGAN EVER SAVED ONE SOUL FROM HELL. The change from "ever" to "bever: is extremely offensive to the Cherokee. Tony Richardson's father was Chief of the North Carolina Cherokee.

P. S.-With attitudes that some Southern Gospel music vocal and band members have, is it any wonder that at least some groups have such a high turnover rate, when it comes down to the membership of some groups? The Kingsmen, for example, have had one of the highest numbers of past and present members that I've ever seen! I love the Kingsmen, but I cannot believe how many people they've had in their group over the years. What's going on here??? Triumphant Quartet, on the other hand, has only had 1 line-up change since their inception, and that was when Jeff Stice left back a few years ago. The Collingsworth family? Yet another fine example of group stability. They live, by all accounts and appearances, good, Godly lives. I've seen, however, so many groups that look like, and act like, the world, that it's simply NOT to be believed!! Give me Triumphant Quartet and the Collingsworth family any day!
