My honest opinion: I would def recommend this bass! It's a great bass for everybody who want's to get into e.g. jazzier and funkier music styles. Could do a great job for pop as well. It plays great and keeps the warm and smooth tone, always sounding sweet. Said the prog metaller...;-)

Would be interesting to know if they shifted to P pickup a little further forward than on a regular Fender because, tone wise, it sounds bassier. There's a very VERY good reason for the P Bass pickup sweet spot!

New signature but he was walking around NAMM 2020 the entire time with his older Mayones signature?

The „old“ one isn’t discontinued.

@@basstheworldofficial I know, I'm just wondering as to why he wouldn't have been promoting his new bass at the show. Unless there's the slim chance it still wasn't available and you managed to get your hands on it quicker.

Hadrien prefers to play on his 5 string that's why. Marcus Miller has a 5 string signature but prefers to play his 4 string jazz bass.

In jedem Fall klingt der Bass gut. So eine P und J Bass- Kombination ist auch klasse. Spielt Hadrian Feraud seinen Bass dann mit Ramp? Oder spielt er ohne?

What strings did you have on the bass? I would really appreciate having this as a standard piece of information in your videos. They matter so much for the tone, and it would help to understand e.g. whether the brightness/darkness is the pickups, wood, or string choice.

In the first solo how did you get that tone? Is everything flat? Scooped? Compression?
@basstheworldofficial4 жыл бұрын
That’s a combination of a BAE 1073 preamp and a REDDI Tube DI. In post I added (subtle) EQ and compression.

Sounds pretty generic, too much lows not enough mids
@kingdeedee4 жыл бұрын
I tend to agree. It seems to have a natural "scooped" tone which is nice, but many of a bass' unique tonal qualities are in the mids. Although I feel like it would kill in any studio situation

Aaaaah! It's your typical pj sound. P pickup,...not so great. It doesn't have that "TRUE" "P",..."UMF!" Pickups together,...fair.. Kind of "DRY". Jazz pickup/ Bridge position. Good. Also,...it doesn't have the "SNAP!" when you "SLAP!". The pickups look like "CREAM" colored "9mm pole" Mitchell or DONLIS" or DELANO or "BASSMODS" pickups. Not impressed. 24 frets and easy "HIGH's" access,...is a "PLUS" Now the "PRICE!" will probably "KILL!" you.
