The goddess I would love to see most as a doll is Persephone. She’s my absolute favorite and is just such a good character. Destroyer of light, bringer of death, goddess of spring and new life, dread queen of the dead, lady of eternal punishment and reward. She’s got a great aesthetic!

@@skye9471 Actually im pretty sure she does have all those titles. The only one I don't recall is the eternal punishment one but it seems fitting since it works with her lore. Have you guys read the online comic Lore Olympus? It's an amazing modern retelling of the Greek pantheon.
@berkleypearl23633 жыл бұрын
@@skye9471 so, I’m autistic and Persephone is actually my special interest. I’m currently studying classical archaeology at university so that I can make the study of Persephone my full time job. Hellenistic deities are actually highly multifaceted and vary greatly across time periods, cultures, and geographic location. Unlike in Abrahamic tradition there is no single defining written text from which to draw information. Rather their gods were just sort of culturally osmosed over hundreds of years. If one only interprets Persephone through her worship at Eleusis she might come across as a more passive character because the story primarily focuses on Demeter and her loss. However, it is important that we also consider the worship of Persephone at other sanctuaries such as Locri, along with more individual cults such as the Orphics, Dionysians, and Pythagoreans. Each of these communities had their own unique perception of the goddess. Additionally we must consider her origins during the Mycenaean period where we see that written record of her name predates Hades’. Overly Sarcastic Productions here on KZbin actually released a fairly good and entertaining summary of Persephone recently. Except they didn’t link to their sources so you’ll have to take the word of this incredibly dedicated nerd that it is fairly accurate. If you are interested in further reading I am more than happy to provide links to some sources!

@@charlieparker5346 Uh... they definitely are. Perhaps initially they were closer in nature, but later Sekhmet is associated with pestilence and disease, whereas Bastet is more associated with music and fertility (depicted with a sistrum) - the gentler aspects of this goddess. She was the first queen of Egypt, her name means "the beauty of the crocodile God", which is Sobek, and she is known because se was a very strong queen that never lost her feminity (her statues have curves while the other queen's status don't). Another idea could be Maat, the Goddess that weights your heart when you die, and if it weights less than one of her feathers (she has wings) you get a good afterlife because your heart is pure ❤️

Idea: twins, the goddess of the day - sun, and her sister, goddess of the night - moon. I really love your works, your creativity is insane ❤️

Aren’t Freya and Frigg the same person, just called differently depending on the realm?

Loving the diversity! Can’t wait to see more. You could make a series based on documentaries or goddesses around the world. Or something like women around the world.

Oh My Cat. I fell in love with those wonderful eyes, they look mesmerizing. I think cats are one of the most inspiring animals in the planet, but their eyes are so difficult to achieve, and here you are, doing them so gorgeous. Love this doll. It gives me the inspiration to finish my porcelain cats, they are in my shelf since june.
