I have been following this band for nearly 20 years since I first discovered them. As a lifelong Dirk fan, who only dreams of obtaining even a shred of his talent on drums, I adore Bastian for keeping up and keeping their sound alive. They only get better as the years ago by. I'd say the basic of the verse pattern is kind of a ride-driven variation of the "right hand lead" and goes like: RllRllrRLRllRllr | RllRllrRLRllRllr | ... R (hard) /r (soft) = right on the ride L (hard) /l (soft) = left on the snare + Rides more or less accompanied by the basedrum. This song is really a further development for the Soilwork sound and makes me excited for the album. Bastian does flawless work here.
