i was 13 in 98 and went to woodward for two weeks. a week in i met this kid my age who skated like a pro, every day he'd come to my cabin and wake me up sayin "ben! wake up! lets go skate". that kid's name was bastien salabanzi. he taught me how to ollie over a spine and gave me his used 16 deck, i wish i still had it. i still skate and it stokes me out so much that he does too. the world has changed so much but skating is still the coolest shit ever

It's true and I totally agree but hopefully he is content in life, and appears to be doing good. But, yeah, he fell off the radar for so long.The lost part is incredible. I see he has an interview with the 9 club too. I'll need to check it out and learn more about him. I remember his part from Puzzle, a European skate video mag, from back in the day. He was fs boardsliding rails that seemed as tall as he was at the time. Even as a kid his pop was huge.
