The album version sounds like a wild night with old friends. This sounds like you met someone in a city away from home on holiday and this is your last night with them. The lighter woodwinds provide this nice carefreeness off running through a newly familiar place until 2:50 where it sounds like stopping to catch your breath and realizing how the inevitable (morning) is drawing near. Then, the end is running again and savouring the few remaining hours before the sun rises.
