Great review. I thought the first five books were too much a boy centric to recommend to my daughter. I honestly felt the nerdy young boys are the primary target of the books. Does it change substantially from the book #6?

The 6th book is definitely more focused on Bastille. She is the point of view character and I would even say the main character. Also Patterson as a female author can simply write women’s perspectives better and so her influence on the book is really seen and I think it makes it more approachable for women and girls who would be reading it.

@@NerdMorning Thanks for the feedback! Anyway I decided not to recommend the series to my daughter because the book #6 may be the final of the series. As a dad, I just cannot recommend a story where a more mature and capable girl always saves the less qualified boy who is for some reason the main character for 5 books long. Such a girl may be a nerdy boy's dream. But such a boy is a nightmare for a smart girl.
