As a big TT (Tactile Turn) fan I instantly compared the two however for someone who doesn't want to or can't pay $99usd up to $249usd but still wants a full metal cool pen $29usd is great value.

THIS is an amazing pen, much better VFM than the Tactile Turn Side Click ( _I do understand it's Titanium though_ ). This is also in my cart, but alas, shipping to India it is costing me around $94, hence I dropped the plan. Great review as always!

I just received this pen 2 days ago and youre reviewing it :) good timing! you can get an aluminum version for $25, which is perfect if you want a lighter version of this pen.

That was my first bolt action pen! I have tried out all of the big brands of bolt style at this point and the Refyne EP1 series of pens is my current favorite budget pen recommendation.

Does the Refyne pen come in slim? If it doesn't, is it as chunky or less than the Bastion? I have a slim Bastion Ti and TT Ti. I'm wondering if the chunkiness is less with the TT than the Bastion. I found the chunky Bastion too thick. The Bastion slim is perfect!

@@jessa.3857 Refyne pens are a lot closer to the Bastion slim. They are really similar in thickness to something like the sharpie pens

Great pen. Been using this one and the carbon fiber one for awhile now. I did switch out the spring for a bit softer one and also run a Fisher Space pen cartridge.

I just got their titanium one and I love it The weight is hefty but not unwieldy.

The Titanium version is $60, much cheaper than Tactile Turn.

I have this pen and I love it but it is on the heavy side. The sharp edges around the bolt bothered me at first but they smooth out after you use it for awhile. Bastion actually has a website where they sell other stuff like knives.

I'm finding that a lot of these "EDC" pens are so heavy and poorly balanced they are not fun to carry or write with. I prefer more weight towards the tip.

reason i came to watch this was to see where it unscrewed cos you cant see any join marks to see where the refill goes, i think it looks much better quality than your other tbh, im in england and would love to get it for 30 bucks cos its gonna cost me about £60 after all the charges! ty for the vid.

Yes, this was discontinue and has gotten very hard to find. The old ones have not lasted very well either.

Lovely pen. I was wondering where it's manufactured, weird there are zero "made in" labels. WIth that deep discount beats the pen market, no brainer for a gift.

You should check out the titaner titanium bolt action pen! I've bought 3 of them (two as back up) because they're so good. I use an energel refill and occasionally a zebra sarasa 0.4 refill.

I got a $80 Titaner from ebay, looks amazing but it is soooo heavy and somewhat back-weighted so not real fun to carry or write with 😪

Not having seen this in person, but the pocket clip looks odd to me. Like it doesn't match the pens design. How its mounted with screws, mounting right up to the edge of the rounded top looks like and afterthought. Maybe it's just me.

I replaced the clip with a "deep-carry" one from Amazon, and had a machinist friend cut in some traction grooves on his lathe. Also, the newer SLIM model is a lot more user-friendly and lighter

How is the weight and balance on the carbon fiber version? Is it back or front weighted?

@@kaizen5023 It's a very heavy pan but somehow it just feels good I balance it on my finger it is more top-heavy. Not accurately though I recommend it because it's a great pen I get lotta compliments on it

Yes. It take a #6 Torx bit. Also, the bolt action stud can un-screw.
