It's my opinion that Naturopathy is a field and practice in it's own right and secular apposed to other conventional medical academic professions. We have to keep in mind this is an (alternative and integrative practice) and thus it should be treated as such, unbiased and respectful and free from any selfish political or academia driven mainstream agendas.

ND students do not take more basic science credits than allopathic medical students and if anything it is quite the contrary. It's interesting that you choose to paint it as if your students somehow learn more in less time in almost every area of basic science. False advertising, my friends.

@@dougreformed8956 Doug, Look at the table again. This is provided by the American Academy of Family Physicians. It shows that a family medicine physician has 15,000 more hours of training than a naturopath.

@@QwertySkill Of course because they include residency which is a fancy word for supervised work. The medschools themselves are comparable...it was here that the claim that NDs are less trained in the sciences was aimed at. In my country (NZ) you can do MD medschool in 6 years. ND courses require an undergraduate course first which makes it 8 years for them.

@@dougreformed8956 Residencies are not just supervised work, it is actually where most of the useful skills and knowledge is required. I couldn't imagine practicing straight out of medical school without completing a residency first.
