Mike V broke the ankle on his front foot and since then he can’t roll it sideways so he says he can’t even Ollie high now. So I imagine he’d have trouble getting good with flip tricks, but really no need, he’s got a style all his own and not a lot of skaters have that.

He stopped flipping his board after really bad injury (i think might be the ankle I have forgotten now) around 2009 I believe, even olling flat was hard for him to do so he just dialed back more of the 80s style he pioneered when he first went pro at 16 in 88. Some fun Mike V facts: he was the first Tampa Pro winner in 95, had the first pro double kick deck (the Barnyard) and someone point this out but if I'm not wrong did the first switch fs180 ollie on film in the mini ramp section of Speed Freaks.
