Great video! I have just started painting them for myself (I am beginner, I painted few 3d printed minis before and bought the game to kinda learn on them painting techniques and maybe get into playing this types of games) and I will definitely look for your minis to get some ideas how to do them!

My hats off to you sir. 63 minis at a whack!? Big 👍! I myself just finished assembling 60 zombies from Mantics Kings of War line (2 days of finding the time to snip, file, glue, repeat lol.). I'm thinking of giving them all a black rattle can prime followed by a dry brush of grey then a dry brush of white on only the most upper facing raised surfaces. I plan on using only citadel contrast paints. Any advice? Thanks.

Hey how’d it go?

@@keep_making Hey, well to be honest, I think I lost a lot of the benefits of the contrast paints by putting them over the zenithal prime layers. My best results for the zombies flesh came when I used basilicanum grey. It worked the best with the primer tones underneath. Plaguebearer flesh looked HORRIBLE as did apothecary white. Skeleton horde was ok but the black primer in the deeper recesses was very overpowering. Of course my drybrushing skills leave much to be desired which could contribute a lot to the zenithal prime being unbalanced in a lot of areas. Too much black showing here, not enough grey or white there, etc.....Im still learning my way around this hobby. What I did have fantastic results on were the wolves I also painted from the zombicide wulfsburg expansion. I ditched the zenethal and went with either a black, white or grey primer depending on the color fur I wanted. Then I blended various layers of contrast paints and washes to add dimension to the fur and topped them off with drybrushing to bring out the various fury details. I think overall, the contrast paints coupled with the drybrushing and washing gave me the results I was looking for and will continue to practice combing those methods with other minis. Thanks for checking back with me. Stay safe and take care.

My simple question - How much time and how much money? :D I'm asking because with C:CMD+Goat+Yog'Sothoth - for me it was 85h, TT standard, and people was saying that ~$250 was too much (so ~$4/h). This was below minimal allowed wage in my country (Poland). They even originally thought (because of the painting standard) it was ~160-200h. Didn't change a thing.

i didn't log the total amount of time i spent to be honest. but usually with batch painting commissions i charge $25 CAD per 28mm model, and if models are bigger than that i charge $50-$100. but if i am commissioned to do single highly detailed models i start my fee at $50 and range up to $250 CAD based on the size or detail. you should also be charging for materials used, and charge so that you are making a profit. i find it really helps to explain to the person who is commissioning you where there money is going. bigger numbers can be intimidating or seem steep, but vie found when someone is able to understand how much work goes into this type of painting, they will understand your prices. hope that helps.
@RESURRECT2
@RESURRECT2 2 жыл бұрын
@@keep_making Wow! To compare, I shoot a price of ~300CAD for painting 54 minis. (Game costed ~150CAD). This was for 85h of painting, so about... 4CAD/h :D :D :D People was "noooope man, tooo much, forget it".
@keep_making
@keep_making 2 жыл бұрын
@@RESURRECT2 that is more than fair. I try to be able to get one mini done per hour, so that I’m making minimum wage + material cost & profit. With batch painting that means you can even increase profit if you’re able to find optimization and efficiencies.
