i really love your videos and unique ideas. This video is a great example of both. I would love to use this idea for Christmas cards and tags next year. Perhaps using the colors of the northern lights. I have never used stamps. Are they permanently attached to the transparent holder or can you swap them out? I am looking forward to your 2025 videos. Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments! The clear rubber stamps are packed in their own packages. They have a "clingy" backside, that will cling to an acrylic block for the actual stamping. Hope this helps.... You can check out Del Bello's online shop and see the different stamps there... hugs, Elisabeth

This is beautiful ❤️ I tried to find the color madder lake but no luck.
@ElisabethSchwabeАй бұрын
Thank you so much. Rembrandt, van Gogh and Winsor & Newton has the color Madder Lake. Maybe others aswell.... The color Alizarin Crimson is equivalent and much easier to find amongst all brands, I think. Both these colors are deep, bright red and transparent, and lovely to mix with ultramarine like I do in the video. In my previous video, I used the red color on a really christmassy piece, not mixed with anything, and that bright red is beautiful I think.... Hope this helps.... hugs, Elisabeth

I really love your creations but I have a question please. I noticed you used ordinary table salt as opposed to coarse sea salt which is what I have used and seen used in the past. So I tried your project which gave 4 strips from one background piece. It wasn’t clear what you did to the salt (if anything) AFTER the work dries? Do we leave it in place or do we brush it off? The effect on this latest project is so stunning and essential to the success of the project that I hope you can advise me more in how to achieve the look of snowflakes as you did. On the project I tried, I left the salt in place but then I had great difficulty stamping over the top of it. You seem to stamp the fir trees AFTER the addition of the salt??? Looking forward to learning. Thank you and sorry to be SO long winded. 🤗
@ElisabethSchwabeАй бұрын
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback.... I do use coarse salt on some pieces when I want really big blooms, but usually I use ordinary table salt. I let the piece complety airdry so the salt can "do its thing" and then just brush it off, before stamping. I'm sorry this doesn't show properly on the video, and in future videos I'll be sure to show this better. Thank you for pointing it out to me so that I can make better videos... much love, Elisabeth

I didn't see where you added the gouache. Was the majority of the white created by gouache? Or did the salt create that beautiful effect?

Amazing, Elisabeth, simply amazing. I want to try this. O.K. How much salt did you use to get all that white space? Is table salt better than Kosher salt? Thank you.
@ElisabethSchwabe28 күн бұрын
Hi there and thank you very much... I use ordinary tablesalt. The trick is to drizzle it on at the right moment when the paper is still glistening but not very wet. It's not a lot of salt... I've never used kosher salt, but seasalt and coarse salt. They give like bigger blooms, so for a snowy effect, I like this finer grained salt. If you look at my piece at 5:00,- the parts with the bigger blooms? This is where the paper was a tad bit wetter than where you can see each seperate bloom from one grain of salt... hope this makes sense...hugs, Elisabeth
@roxanneklinger382825 күн бұрын
I am not a watercolorist, but are you telling me the salt made all those white ice crystal shapes? ... or am I missing something?
@ElisabethSchwabe25 күн бұрын
Hi there...yes, salt makes all those nice white "blooms" and different wetness of the paper gives different kind of "blooms". Just drizzle salt when paper is still wet, and let it air dry. You'll see the magic happening... hope this makes sense... hugs, Elisabeth
@abcameoАй бұрын
My comment disappeared! 😲 Just in case, I'd like to ask why my adding salt doesn't result in white spots (which look like little flowers or snow on yours?) I really love your videos, and this one looks so easy and just what I need to try for tags. Thank you for any advice.
@ElisabethSchwabeАй бұрын
Hello there.... If your salt doesn't result in anything, it is because the paper is to dry. If you like I would give you a little tip...? Different paper, colors and wetness of paper gives different outcome with the salt. Do a little swatch with the paper you use, and wet maybe 3 small squares with water, then add some color. Add some salt to the first squar, wait for 1/2 a minute, then the next square, wait another 1/2 minute and then the last square. Let it all airdry naturally, and you'll see the salt starts to absorb the color and makes the blooms... 3 different ways... so now you'll get a better "feel" when to add the salt to get the blooms like you want them to. The drier the paper is, the smaller the blooms get... I do hope this helps...please, if you wonder about anything, pm me on messenger, and I'll answer you as quickly as I can.... love and hugs, Elisabeth
@abcameoАй бұрын
@@ElisabethSchwabe Thank you so very much. I thought my paper seemed quite wet, but I obviously need to experiment further as you've advised. So much appreciated--I can't even begin to tell you! My two samples didn't look at all pretty (or beautiful like yours--colors, salt effect...anything.) I definitely need to give it another go. 🙂
@Lainers200029 күн бұрын
@@ElisabethSchwabe Thank you for the explanation, I just posted a question about how much salt you used, but this additional information really helps.
