"Bates Motel," serves as a contemporary prequel to the genre-defining film, "Psycho," and promises to give viewers an intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates' psyche unravels through his teenage years.
Fans will have access to the dark, twisted backstory and learn first hand just how deeply intricate his relationship with his mother, Norma, truly is and how she helped forge the most famous serial killer of them all.

I've only started it and it looks really good. Why set in modern times? I think it might have been more realistic had it been set earlier as the movie was set in the 50s.

Norman and Norma bates are the fictional characters from real life "Psycho" killer Ed and Augusta Gein! Now that is scary!

Caught ya! If you slow the playback speed of the video in the settings to 0.25x at the 00:27 time stamp, the house is noticably missing its roof! (As explained by Carlton Cuse, he production couldn't afford to finish the mansion's roof. It was added in post-production using CGI, but I've tried time and again to catch a shot that's not been doctored).
