This was one of my favorite scenes and I am ecstatic that this clip is finally uploaded. Most people would say that Norman is crazy and weird for wanting his mother to himself, but if you really analyze his feelings, Norma kept him to herself until she found Romero. She would show some signs of jealousy towards the women that Norman befriended and sometimes just him making his way to being a normal kid would upset her because the clinginess would fade with new relationships. Norman was "psycho" but if we dig deeper, his mother contributed to his insanity. Their relationship was unique. They were one and not one without the other, hence how the story concluded. He lost himself after the death of his mother and could not bear to live without her, rather live as her. My opinion, I felt so bad for Norman in this scene because Norma left him and abandoned the love that she molded for herself and Norman.

I think there’s part of it too, though, that Norma knew what Norman was capable of. She was trying to protect him and those around him the only way she knew how. She was obviously lacking in boundaries but I mean, she was in love with her own brother. The only men in her life used and abused her, and she couldn’t let it happen with Norman. And she couldn’t let him use and abuse those around him, or kill them, more rather. So she kept him close with her ~love~, if you will, in order to protect those around him.

Every time Norman tried to break away from his mother and be a normal teenage boy, Norma couldn't handle it. And all of a sudden, while Norman is in a mental institution, his mother decides to get married and expects Norman to just be okay with it. After smothering him for years. After making him feel guilty for having feelings for other girls. My heart broke for Norman from the beginning of this series until the very end. It broke for Norma too, but not in the same way.

I know exactly what you mean, 'cause it feels like Norma brought it upon herself a bit. I think Norma didn’t know how to give Norman a normal childhood because she didn’t have one herself. She thought what she was doing (being overprotective) was better than what she had growing up.. which boils down to never being protected. The brother she looked to for protection, violated her. I understand as a mother who was violated as a child and it made my mother overprotective of me but it helps me to give my 3 normal freedom and boundaries. I finally get their dynamic. @@distantraveller9876 Nah, you just think women lack agency, accountability. They are nor children, and when I realised that and called out a woman in my life for her BS she respected me more: because you have to give respect, even if harsh in nature, to get respect. She coddled Norman too much, it is in part her fault. She had problems too but that does not diminish this fact. It is thankfully fiction though, but if I were Norman's dad I would put a stop to that crap and tell his mother she is not being normal and to give him space to breathe. Even if a son hated me for it I would put a stop to it all for his sake. Coddling is a form of abuse imo. I am not a bad guy, will save 1.50 each week when my boy is 1, 2.50 when 2, 3.50 when 3 and so on maybe even increasing into the 20s if he goes to college and gets a part time job to supplement his savings. I will not let his mother mess him up though, and women sadly often mess up kids. If he grabbed her or screamed at her like Norman did to Norma btw, his teeth would be knocked out. She should have not let him come home, but to be fair I imagine she let him because she couldn’t have trusted that he wouldn’t have tried to break out of Pineview and gotten himself into more trouble or worse come back home to kill Romero. She never took his blackouts and condition seriously at first and tried to deny that he was getting worse at first so if anything it’s really her fault how he’s turned out. It was Norma's fault for never letting norman talk to any other girls other than herself, of course, he wouldn't understand Norma getting married to a person when she made it clear that their bond cant be broken.

Norma literally kept feeding into his delusions by not ever telling him the truth about what happened and why she does what she does. She got jealous and made him walk home because he had sex with Bradley. Always had to know where and who he’s with. She made her bed

To be honest norman was a bit cocky here. Everything is perfect until he ruins it. He must be thankful that his mother did this for him.

I agree with you I think that Norma loves her son so much that she always wanted to protect her from everything she wanted to recreate with him what she lived with her brother "all one for the other" to make that one "I think that norma had his lot of problems with the men and that norman was always for her and that was too close to him which makes that at the beginning of the serie one wonders if norma does not have a to girlfriend to his fiks rather than to mother but in view of all that is produced "murder" "humiliations" "fear" that norman did she lost this link that united them is the fact that it is a pine view the livery of his problems and give him the taste of life to live and not worry

@@Persei1 for real lmao it's funny how they're blaming her for protecting him but if she didn't do that and he got hurt because of it they'll be calling her uncaring . They're blaming her for not wanting him dating those girls ... 1/Bradley - Used Norman for sex immediately after her father died and then she told him that it meant nothing and she had no feelings for him and broke his heart ( even tho Norma warned him and told him that Bradley was using him ) . 2/Emma - Married his brother after dating him for a while . 3/Cody - Problematic and also she knew Emma shouldn't be swimming yet she cheered her on to do it which almost killed her . But sure according to these Norma haters we should put the blame on the one and only person who was protecting him all along lol .

are you guy's fucking kidding me.. the entire time norma was protecting norman... thats the whole point of the show to make you think otherwise until.... thats why the ending is so great. we already grew to love norman and think he's not so bad. you still would'nt after that one.
