This came up on my recommended probably because we are visiting in April. I am so sorry for what had happened. We live in Brisbane Australia, and are all too familiar with floods. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this disaster.

Same here! We’re in Brisbane but hail from nr Bath. Seeing the Bathampton pub and surrounds under is shocking. The canal must be a mess 🥺

Rivers noted dredged for decades.. All by design.

@@GMT439 Dredging the river is just one stitch amongst many trying to keep the worsening wound (climate change) from killing its host. I see on every English flooding channel people (or propaganda bots, mixture of the two when people start believing the bots) declaring that it’s simply the rivers haven’t been dredged lol. Be prepared for much more of this in the future, and also droughts (yes you can have both too much and too little water at different times (as hard as it seems to be for many to grasp))

„“Our duty is to our shareholders“ 21st century PRIVATISED Britain…..the only country in the world to privatise its water industry. Take a look at the difference between the cost of the water you use and the total bill……..then make them wait before you pay it.

This is what happens when you do not dredge the rivers for 2 decades. ALL BY DESIGN. The Age of Aqua Rheas has arrived.

Climate change. And too large a human population all over the world. Sending best wishes to those living there from Canada where our forests were on fire for over half a year. And will likely be that way again this year.

Don't be rude. Yes, it has everything to do with climate change. Floods may always have been part of the natural cycle but not so often and to the degree that are being experienced now. Just like the forest fires in Canada. It was absolutely horrific this year and will likely continue. I don't know about you but I prefer a planet that is full of life, not a desert of death. So deal with reality!@user-vg7fe4wk6s

Really? We're going to play this game? Climate change is happening all over the globe and all we need to do is look at the signs. Let's get smarter as a species and stuff using fossil fuels!@@herbypumpkin1256

They should make all those unused shipping containers water tight then fill them and sell the water to desert countries.

Get your bible out and read about a bloke called Noah. What's going on there is nothing compared to the global warming back then. Still can't figure out how he got 2 of every animal from Australia and NZ, or where all that water went. Maybe it's covered in the second edition. You may notice that storms are now given names. It's all part of the psychology to scare you into submission to the WEF global warming scam.

This is proof of lack of planning, too many houses on flood plains, too little planning on how to design ditches to both drain the land during normal weather, but hold water back during storms like this. Too little spend geoengineering flood plains to hold more water back/store water. Lack of money spent on high volumn pumps and pipes to remove water quickly into the sea from flooded area's. The only thing it proves is that the uk gov and councils couldn't buy a clue. I could fix this, i know how to but i do not have a voice or a job with the environment agency where you can take a wage for zero achievements.
