This interview with Bathory's main man Quorthon who passed away in 2004. This interview was with the Swedish radio show Rockbox hosted by Pär Fontander. This interview aired on the 23rd of May of 1987 and it's one of the few interviews with Quorthon that made it into this digital age. It's in Swedish but I made some English subs for you. Enjoy!

I can still remember being 16 or 17 and reading about Bathory in one of the 500 metal magazines that were out back then and the author referred to them as the band that “out-Venomed Venom.” Being a huge Venom fan, I was immediately intrigued. That guy had such a mystique about him, whereas once you heard Venom being interviewed you knew it was all just fun and games for them. Anyway, great find, thanks for posting this.

Spelade in varenda avsnitt av Rockbox fr ca 1986/87 tills det lades ned, men tyvärr så har ju kassettbanden försvunnit m tiden. Minns detta avsnitt och att Bathory lät som inget annat jag hört, blev livrädd 😅

Not alot of people know this, But Quorthon was 6'6. Not only was he really tall. He was the same height as Rock 'N' Roll legend Joey Ramone. But was also one 6 off from referencing Satan.
