Ty for accurately portraying what I'm about to experience replacing that tailpiece. So many videos where it seems like they're working in a walk in undersink. Wish me luck.

This method worked 100% for me - took me only 3 mins of using the screwdriver to chip out the old tail piece. Was done with the replacement & cleanup in under 15 mins. Thanks Steve!!

A million thanks to you! This is the exact issue I had and the first and only video that showed how to fix it! P.S. I cursed like hell during my attempts to fix this!! Trust me, you're a lightweight!!

After 30 minutes of cursing and trying to fit the replaced pipe, you saved my bacon with this video. I was 2 seconds from calling my plumber until I scraped (and cursed) and scraped some more (and cursed some more) until I finally got the new pipe to fit. I used teflon tape since I didn't have any dope handy. After seeing how it's done properly, I felt like a dope.

So what did I learn today? Trust in rust. I took heart and continued to chip away at the rusted off piece in the tailpiece. It did have weak points that finally gave. Thanks from DIYer that added one more "skill" to his list. Thurmbs up.

steven lavimoniere thxs Steve. How do you decide to use pipe dope, teflon tape or teflon tape and dope together?
@stevenlavimoniere9 жыл бұрын
if its plastic use just teflon ,if it copper use both teflon and pipedope ,gas pipe is just pipedope.
@joebal90449 жыл бұрын
steven lavimoniere Is Mega Lock compatible with Teflon tape? I would think the pipe dope would have to contain PTFE to assure it's compatible with the tape.

Hey I have a question on the air conditioning video, if you go from r22 to 410a refrigerant, if you change the condensing unit to 410a do you have to change the evaporater or if it's ok to just change the piston.
@stevenlavimoniere9 жыл бұрын
Trinidad Trujillo depends how new the evaporator is if its new you can just change the piston remember to pull a good vacuum

I have enjoyed your videos on the years including your cooking videos. I have a question. I bought a small office building. The shutoff valve to bathroom is rusted in open position and needs another as well as new fluidmaster( very slow water fill). There is no main shutoff. My question is should I put a main shutoff valve very close to wall where the water enters the building in the next room by the heating system or leave some room?? I'll have to call the City to turn off the water to do this. Your input would be appreciated.

Wao, first thanks for uploading this video. My bathroom pipe just broke same as this had not idea how to fix it. Well it is quite a work. I wonder why not to have all PVC in here to avoid this problem. In the mean time I will try not to tight it to much and see if no drains occurs. (2017-12-31 @ 10:25 AM (EST)

Hi, I'm looking at a brass one that the previous owner -- unbelievably caulked on the outside in an attempt to repair. I think I have a plastic replacement. I hate cabinets. They should put the plumbing somewhere else so I don't have to contort myself or bend over. Thanks.
